Promotional products offer you a unique opportunity

Promotional products offer you a unique opportunity to get your company's name out there and keep it there.

Need a cost-effective way to promote your business? Promotional products are the answer! Use them as giveaways to introduce your business to the community, a purchase premium (free T-shirt with purchase!), employee incentives for sales contests and awards for a job well done or as a "Thank You!" to your existing customers.

Promote your business in your store or shop, via the U.S. mail, in person at time of service and at live events and festivals such as Cinco de Mayo.

A recent groundbreaking study by the Advertising Specialties Institute has revealed that promotional products beat out all forms of TV, radio and print advertising as the most cost-effective advertising medium available.

The promotional items you pick are limited only by your own creativity. They can range from market-proven goods such as: Customized calendars, T-shirts with family, musical or sports themes or stationery products. Practical items that reflect your own industry can work very effectively. For instance, imprinted pot holders, cutting boards or beverage cups would be a good fit for food and beverage firms, as well as anything related to this market. For automotive or automotive products, it might be small wrenches, logoed key tags, auto safety kits, scrapers or small flashlights. Computer and technology firms may want to use imprinted mouse pads or computer rear-view mirrors. Items like baseball bat shaped pens, key tags with a baseball glove or ball theme and baseball caps can all work well. You can also get engraved regulation sized bats and balls with major league insignia imprinted on one side and your company name and/or logo on the other. Another sports themed item would be an imprinted collapsible sports chair with its own carrying case or a seat cushion. You are only limited by your imagination!

What a perfect advertising concept! Using a common product that people will use pick up and use every day at the office, every evening at home and every time they drive as your personal billboard! Every time people used or see your promotional piece, they see your logo or message. Seeing your business name everyday builds a sense of familiarity and trust. People feel more comfortable with a name or brand they see every day, they consider you part of the family and when your products or services are needed... They will call you first!

Take a look around your own office. It's likely you will see a calendar and a colorful pen or two imprinted with a company logo. At home you will probably find a flashlight, bottle opener and refrigerator magnets. In you car you may find key tags and an air freshener, on your car a decal or a license plate frame.

What can these products to do for your business?

Build awareness of your company!
Boost sales!
Provide a way to thank your customers!

Putting your logo on such promotional products as a can cooler or a mouse pad tells customers that you and you business have arrived and you're here to stay!

Let promotional products be your constant salesperson for your service or product that keeps on selling long after they have met you or visited you business.

Re: Starting customized giftware... Re: Starting customized giftware... - It seems that it would also be good to pick a nice variety to get started, but not to bring in too many products at first. Unless you have a good supplier that would let you get small quantities, but like someone mentioned above, cash flow will be an issue - so careful planning and don't expect to offer hundreds of products at first. I knew a business owner who had several great suppliers who let him order very small quantities and that gave him the option to offer many products without paying an excessive inventory. Chris
Decide your market first Decide your market first - Who do you offer your services to? General public or clients that already use your products? If you offer your services to the general public, you'll need a website, business cards, word of mouth. Get as many e-mail addresses as you can. Don't spam but ask people questions on the services they need and if it's something you provide get there email address and offer to help them by sending some information to their email address. If you're offering your tech support services to clients who already use your products, you have a head start...
Distribute European products in US Distribute European products in US - I have been approached by a few companies from Europe to distribute their product like Clothing, chocolates, shoes, bags, etc here in the US. Now I am not 100% sure if I want to do this because I would like to meet them in person and actually see the quality of the products. Anyone ever done this type of business? Where you had to deal with potential international suppliers? I have asked for samples and catalogs, but haven’t gotten a response yet (been only a day). These products would be new to the US. But nothing "unique".
Starting customized giftware... Starting customized giftware... - Hi, I was wondering if anyone could offer guidance as to the best way to start a business that offers customized giftware & promotional items, framed artwork, and business products. How do you find companies or manufacturers to make the customized gifts/products that you have designed? Can you recommend any books on getting started in the giftware and promotional products industry? Thanks
How to gain access from manufacturers to sell their products How to gain access from manufacturers to sell their products - I work in a company that specializes in distributing industrial products of several brands. In other words, I am an agent/representative for the brands that I sell. My vision is to be a company that is able to add and market new products of high equity brands over the years. The problem is that the prospective brands that I would like to add already have their own representatives, even though I believe several still need more agents to maximize its potential. I believe I should be given the opportunity to market these brands but it is hard to get permission from the manufacturers/principals. Do you have any advice on how to convince these manufacturers to allow me access to represent their brands and have their products be successful in the big market of Indonesia? What are the steps that I should take? Thanks. bmbearindo
