How to use online media to network and promote you and your business.
Make sure each of your online profile’s have CONSISTENT messages. IF you are in business for yourself, you can put some business information on there. Keep it consistent with your marketing message and keep it short. Put your website in your profile, so someone can learn more about you and our company. I have been tracking the referrals to my website for the last month, and have found at least once a day, someone from Facebook AND Linked In, click through to my site. This increases the exposure I have already received from being on the first page of search engines!
In most cases you are combining your business and personal information, so you may want to be careful of what info to put the AND who sees what. The following is an excerpt of what a Business Associate friend of mine, Jeremy Treister, has written in his Quick Tips Newsletter. This newsletter is very informative on computer and online issues. Jeremy says "Many people hesitate to join Facebook because they’re understandably concerned about mingling their professional and their private lives. Fortunately, Facebook is so highly customizable that you can rest assured your potential employers will never see your goofy Halloween photos, and your friends will never be treated to your reflections on business topics."

Re: I have found a way to market my business.... FINALLY!! :
-
I just started my own online business about a month ago, and I was honestly having trouble finding where to market it, and I noticed that there are a lot of other people who were in the same boat. Yesterday Wowzaa was launched, and I just so happened to stumble upon it in my attempts to find marketing sites! I am brand new to it, but it is growing fast. As with any multi level organization, timing plays a critical factor. If you’re wanting to get word out about your online business, Wowzaa is where to do it.
Wowzza is a social networking website similar to Facebook or Myspace. The only difference is that this site is SPECIFICALLY branded so that you can do what you do best… promote your business or opportunity. What makes Wowzaa different is that it pays you to be a member and bring others into the network. If you have any questions, feel free to email me, or even give me a call![/quote:zy0gsmek]
Hi Libby,
I have 2 questions:
1.) If it's a social networking site that allows you to promote your business, won't there be too many "sellers" and not enough "buyers"?
2.) How much does Wowzaa pay you for each new member that you add to your personal network?
Thanks
Re: Social Media Marketing - Corporate Vs. Small Business
-
Hi Jeff,
I spent a lot time for social media maketing (or social bookmarking, social networking) and it is best marketing method for me now.
In order to get great results from scoail media, we must get attention of media certainly. For this, you must have a lot of friends there, so you could vote for each others posts. Addyour link to social media sites and if you have friends voting fo it, then it will be go higher on those sites and more people will visit your site and posts. Without friends network it is impossible to get attention for entrepreneurs.
Also posting quality posts on those sites (I have joined 85-90 social media sites) and doing it without spamming helps to get more traffic and attention.
For example, I have some friends in PlugIm. I post my own site there once a week (certainly I add others site too). When my marketer friends like it they vote and it gets higher there and bings customers for my site[/quote:2tqqknby]
To add to orxan's point, I've seen people on Facebook who have over a thousand "friends" who use the social media to send out regular event notices about things they're trying to promote. Those are the kind of people who should be removed from everyone's friend list.
Re: I thought social sites were a waste of time. How wrong I was
- According to my point of view Social media sites play vital role in online promotion. You can interact with your customer and improve your services and even you can spread your business everywhere through social media sites. Now days people use social media sites to interact with their friends, family and everyone. Below are the famous Social media sites:
1. Facebook
2. Twitter
3. LinkedIn
4. Myspace
5. Google+
Re: Approaching Social Marketing from the right angle
- Well David from my experience having your friends around you on a social network can really benefit your business as long as you ensure that a few simple rules are observed
1. under no circumstances should you direct promote a particular site or product simultaneously with your friends IE all submit the same link numerous times between your circle,(spam) again use your signatures to do the selling.
2. ensure the topic of any discussion is suitable to include the rest of the community and especially those that connect with you.
3.if commenting on a member of your circles article or post keep the comment honest don't say it is a good post if you really believe it to be rubbish, this may upset your friend who created the post but will show the rest of those viewing that your being open and up front in how you treat people and are not showing favoritism - you are prepared to treat them as equals.
Relationship/Social Marketing works best when you can create an environment where visitors to your group get a sense of family and a warm welcoming oasis in a sea of unknown people, most of the time you won't need to promote your product or opportunity because once new people start to relax their natural curiosity will cause them to ask about your online endeavors.
You can mix business and social friends successfully on a social network providing you ensure the social rates higher than business.
