Stop Talking About Being Overwhelmed and Start Doing Something About It!
I find this so frustrating, because I know that if they had a marketing plan it would help them alleviate all these problems.
Yes, you have to carve out time in your busy schedule to sit down and do up a marketing plan and yes, you have to spend some time (that you believe you don't have) to think about what your objectives are.
But if you took some of the time that you spend to complain or stress about being overwhelmed and use that to create a "down and dirty" marketing plan, you'd be so much farther ahead!
I know that there are other reasons people have for not doing a marketing plan:
• they feel they don't need one
• they don't like the idea of being too structured
• they are lazy
• they feel it's a waste of time
• they are afraid to do one because they don't know how
• they like to "live in the moment" and be open to all opportunities
Believe me, we all experience these feelings at some point or another, but it's the ones who get honest with themselves and take some action who will move past these fears and outmoded ideas, and move towards the life they want.
Pay attention to people who have been successful and you'll notice that they talk about doing their planning and being really clear about what direction they're going in and how to get there.
This is what a marketing plan is in a nutshell – your roadmap, your treasure map.
But you are never going to get to the destination you desire or the treasure you crave unless you quit complaining and start taking some action!
A marketing plan doesn't have to be umpteen pages long; it doesn't have to be perfect; it doesn't have to be for the next 5 years; it doesn't have to have every cost figured out.
You can start with a really basic marketing plan that takes you an afternoon to put together. Surely you have an hour you can devote to your business, your prospective and current clients/customers, your goals, your dreams, your success, your sales, your peace of mind and your growth?
So the next time you find yourself sitting with your head in your hands wondering where to start or yakking with a friend about how busy you are….take those 5, 10, 15 minutes and jot down your marketing objectives and 3-5 marketing tactics you'll use to meet those objectives, and when you'll do those tasks.

The biggest complaint that I hear my clients and customers say, and also clients and customers of other people, is that they are overwhelmed with their marketing. That they don't have time to do it, or time to learn it, or time to plan it.
I find this so frustrating, because I know that if they had a marketing plan it would help them alleviate all these problems.
