5 Ways Social Media Could Have Improved My Life

5 Ways Social Media Could Have Improved My Life

In thinking about social media and technology and how it has become ingrained in my life, I think back to past events and think how it could have helped.

1. I could have used Skype and Facebook chat to fawn over my long-distance high school boyfriend, rather than racking up hundreds in long-distance charges (yea, back when it was $.20/minute). Better yet, I could have found a better boyfriend on Facebook.

2. When my husband was working in Florida and I was in Arkansas with a brand new baby, we could have shared videos on YouTube and talked via Skype video. Posted pics on Flickr. Created a blog about Max’s early days.

3. When I published 101 Entrepreneur Tips in 2006, I could have promoted the heck out of it via Twitter, blog, and Facebook.

4. I could have been saved from every event or long car trip by Twitter.

5. When traveling through Europe, I could have logged my adventures in a blog. I could have found people to stay with through Twitter.

6. Rather than the 13 volumes of journals I have hiding in my garage, I could have blogged my entire life.

So that’s what I’ve come up with. Can you think of ways social media and technology could have helped you in your past?
