Why Entrepreneurs Are Like The Long Shot At Del Mar

Written by: justin french

Article Overview: Entrepreneurs starting businesses in the current economic climate have a real challenge yet an opportunity at the same time. It separates them from others who would never take risks, especially when times are very tough. This sets them apart from the competition. Entrepreneurs start business usually for one main reason: They see a problem, they are passionate about solving that problem, and will do everything necessary to achieve their goal of finding a solution to that problem.

Why Entrepreneurs Are Like The Long Shot At Del Mar

My current start-up Social Networking San Diego was founded in January 2009 on the premise that majority of small business websites don’t generate traffic. I estimate 80% of small business websites don’t generate traffic. So with my technical, business, and entrepreneurial spirit, I vowed to solve this problem because I am passionate about helping the small business community. Like Barack Obama says “Small business and Entrepreneurs will be the driving force of getting us out of this recession”, and I couldn’t agree more.

As for how this analogy relates to horse racing, 90 to 95% of Entrepreneurs fail because lack of funding, lack of leadership/ management, lack of sales, or lack of proper marketing. Usually at the horse races (another passion of mine- I live 20 minutes from Del Mar Racetrack) I tend to put money on the long shots once in a while if I like the jockey, study work out times, know who the trainer is, etc.The point isI do my homework first. Just like in business, when starting a new business venture, do your homework, and if you have a little luck or know the right people, you may just have a big pay day at the window!

CEOs and Email - Slaves? CEOs and Email - Slaves? - I wonder if the emails they are responding to are filtered thru their assistants first 'cos they seem to spend a lot of their off hours responding to them. True they are successful but I'm not sure I'd be willing to pay that price. I'd be interested to know what's the in the typical day planner of Entrepreneurs on the Forum. Entrepreneurs are a different breed than Paid Employees- so it would be interesting to view the contrast.
Fundraising for 3rd world Entrepreneurs Fundraising for 3rd world Entrepreneurs - How great to learn that Evan is doing something for Entrepreneurs in Africa! It just makes me even more thankful to be part of this forum! After helping create a new charity for animals in my local community last year, I created a vision for a charity empowering Women Entrepreneurs. It won't happen for a while yet, but I know it is something I will do within the next few years. As we allow ourselves to think bigger, the opportunity to impact people becomes much bigger as well. Does anyone else have a desire to really make a difference in the world through this means?

Re: Brag: 100 Confirmed email opt-ins Re: Brag: 100 Confirmed email opt-ins - I'm very impressed with what I've read. I'm pretty new to this sort of thing and so far I'm not getting too many people signing up - I get about 60 hits a day on my web for about 30 visits but I don't get new email opt-ins- ony 5 in the last 3 months. Obviously there's something I could be doing but ain't or there's something I am doing but shouldn't. Suggestions would be welcomed. I update my web weekly and update my blog twice a week and have been posting articles on Evan Carmichael now for 5 weeks. Doug Long
