But It Never Rains...

Guest post by: Rebel Brown

Article Overview: "Never" is a very long time. It's also a high Gravity word. "Never" clouds our vision, limits our growth and leaves us just plain blindsided - standing in gravity, clueless and completely unprepared. This Gravity impacts our business and personal lives.

But It Never Rains...

How many times have you been blindsided because you told yourself "It just couldn't happen to me!"

That's another form of Gravity folks!

I was in Las Vegas last weekend at a speaking workshop. Charlie, one of my dearest friends, lives in Vegas. he picked me up on Sunday evening, after this workshop was complete. We headed out to Red Rock in his convertible. We had the top down because it was the perfect Las Vegas afternoon - 80 degrees, huge puffy cumulus clouds marching across the perfect blue sky.

I hadn't been to the ranch at Red Rock, so Charlie took me in to The Old West Town so that I could pet the ponies. They have a petting zoo that includes horses, miniature ponies and a variety of western critters. I hadn't seen my horses in four days and I needed a fix!

We wandered around the grounds for a while, and then stopped in the restaurant to check out the football scores. we sat down at the bar, chatting and laughing as usual. Then, suddenly I heard a noise. A roar.

I realized it was raining - hard. And the top was still down on Charlie's prized convertible. He was out that door faster than a rabbit running from a coyote. I wasn't too far behind.

It wasn't just raining, it was a wall of water, dropping from the sky. The car was soaked - sheepskins dripping. we were soaked by the time we got the top up and jumped into the front seats - and then I was more soaked as the sheepskin shared its water with the backend of my jeans. Eww.

"But it never rains in Vegas!" Obviously, it does.

How many times do you think, "That will never happen to me." "I'll never have to worry about that," or, to the positive side of the equation - " I'll never be that great!"

"Never" is a very long time. It's also a high Gravity word. "Never" clouds our vision, limits our growth and leaves us just plain blindsided - standing in gravity, clueless and completely unprepared. This Gravity impacts our business and personal lives.

I'm ditching the word " Never" for my vocabulary. How about you?
