Such
has become the familiar language of a genre of trader on the vast and
hostile sea known as the internet market. This kind of communication is
not uncommon. Anyone who has ever been tempted to study the super-tanker
profiles and methods of the new brand of business leaders known by the
term 'guru', will have been subject to the power that they wield over
the relatively infant breed of online entrepreneur.
Before the
exponential development of super-highway trading, westerners were
accustomed to the traditional career choices of either, government
civil or military service, working for small and large companies,
service industries, or taking the trepidous step of private enterprise.
Since the relatively recent revolution of sophisticated communication
technology, the world and his wife and children are plugged in to the
world wide web and have blasted open the trading structure into an
anything goes-and-everything-for-sale, global market.
In a
relatively short space of time, people who have fastidiously studied the
emerging and complex technology, recognised ways that they could thrive
by mastering the technology and offering it for sale as information
products. Entire populations, hungry to jump aboard the opportunities of
the global market, recognise the necessity of acquiring the multitude
of skills needed to sail the internet seas and reap the bounties that
are promised to those that belong to the fleet of big ships currently
conquering the information-product commerce with a domination of
currency, possibly never before seen in the history of man.
And
how do the insults come in? Well, we have seen a social phenomenon of
quite ordinary people transform within a short space of time into
power-crazed business chiefs who apparently succeed by an ethos which is
tantamount to the feudal system.
Imagine, if you will, that you
leave your beloved homestead in the morning to find hundreds and
thousands of people in your street, clamouring at your gate, all engaged
in earnest conversation. As you descend the garden path, throngs and
hordes of people that you have never seen before in your life, all rush
towards you. They are all smiling broadly and besiege you with cries of
'Be my friend, be my friend, I like you, you're my friend!
Then
they start pulling your sleeves. From all directions, they thrust stuff
under your nose, crying, “buy my stuff buy my stuff, special offers,
last day or doomed forever, buy my stuff, get rich quick, get anything
quick. Don't delay or be doomed..” It sounds like a nightmare scenario
doesn't it? And yet it is exactly the behaviour when we enter the realm
of social media.
Now, in this short article, having framed the
kind of situation that many people are familiar with..we do not intend
to further energise the lack of democracy that seems to rule the public
social market by complaint. On the contrary, we are here to bring a
message of optimism.
It is time for heart-inspired and ethical
entrepreneurs to gather together and re-democratise the public market.
It is within the scope of each one to build a new trading place, which
is equitable and truly open to all. Intelligent Relationship is the
basis of all society, including internet commerce and communication.
There are many practical ways that entrepreneurs can begin immediately
to protect and distinguish themselves from the hordes on the hostile
high seas:
- Syndicate with other enterprises of similar principles; by co-creating with complementary traders there is the possibility to innovate ways and means that will be of mutual benefit. There is strength in numbers
- Make a public statement of your mission as being one where yours and your clients' mutual delight is the only possibility.
- Demonstrate the integrity of your enterprise by making contact information easily available and encourage customer engagement.
If you set the tone of radiant self-belief with an infectious enthusiasm for encouraging others to live their dream-truth, you will attract increasing evidence of the richness and variety of awakened spirit expressing itself gorgeously around you.
