Nothing Lasts Forever

We live in a dynamic, fluid society. This isn't the predictable, slow moving market we once took for granted. Success, or even survival, often depends on our ability to quickly adapt to capture new or evolving opportunities. There's just one problem. Change is hard. Even brilliant executives get stuck in a patterned way of thinking about themselves, their business, their markets. Hanging onto the status quo is the natural choice because it's a known. It's comfortable. It's 'safe'. Change brings the big unknown - and that's scary.

Without change comes stagnation.

When firms falter it's often due to a culture mired in the status quo, unable or unwilling to respond to changing markets, customers and competitive environments. The world does change, even while we stand firm in our knowns. Sooner or later, if we don't keep up, we will be left behind.

Change is a given.

Change is the one constant we can depend on; our world is changing even while we read this post. Everything changes - from our own skin and hair, to our business markets, customers and competitors. Some changes are slow and gentle, allowing us to adapt. Some are expected - following our prepared course.

Sometimes change blindsides us. From the sudden loss of a loved one to an unexpected business downturn. We're caught off guard, standing flat-footed and wondering what happened. We forget to exhale on the other side of such sudden changes. We dig in and hang on to that which is familiar and safe, hoping things will go back to the way they were. Unfortunately, they don't.

Change brings opportunities.

Change is the fuel of renewal and transformation. Seasons change, renewing our earth and its inhabitants. Our skin changes monthly, renewing our physical 'selves'. Technology, medicine, entertainment -they all change. Our world advances thanks to change.

When we embrace change, we embrace our potential.

Accepting and thriving on change is one of the keys to growth and advancement. When we acknowledge change as part and parcel of our daily lives, we open to the potential for transformation - within ourselves and our businesses.

We eagerly step into exciting new opportunities and challenges, stretch to learn new things, try new approaches and expand our horizons. With each change we get better, and better again.

Isn't that what it's all about?

Re: Do you have an affinity to making money??? Re: Do you have an affinity to making money??? - Hi ideasuniversity, I think we all enjoy making money and hopefully using it wisely, LOL. It is interesting to see that you are getting involved with Aloe Vera products as these seem to have remarkable advantages for health and wellbeing for many people. I almost became involved here a few years back with a company which was called something like Forever Living products who seemed to be very active but ultimately I didn’t follow it up but I can understand your enthusiasm for the products as you can get anything from Aloe Vera toothpaste up over, the range of products is incredible, best of luck with your efforts, regards, Mal.
McDonald's rebranding McDonald's rebranding - I've just been doing a bit of research into McDonalds - not for any business reasons - but over at Wikipedia it says that: In 2006, McDonald's introduced its "Forever Young" brand by redesigning all of their restaurants, the first major redesign since the 1970s.[5][6] The new design will include the traditional McDonald's yellow and red colors, but the red will be muted to terra cotta, the yellow will turn golden for a more "sunny" look, and olive and sage green will be added. To warm up their look, the restaurants will have less plastic and more brick and wood, with modern hanging lights to produce a softer glow. Contemporary art or framed photographs will hang on the walls. The exterior will have golden awnings and a "swish brow" instead of the traditional double-slanted mansard roof. The new restaurants will feature areas: The "linger" zone will offer armchairs, sofas, and Wi-Fi connections. The "grab and go" zone will feature tall counters with bar stools for customers who eat alone; Plasma TVs will offer them news and weather reports. The "flexible" zone will be targeted toward families and will have booths featuring fabric cushions with colorful patterns and flexible seating. Different music will be targeted to each zone. Now I admit I haven't been to a McDonalds in a long time - I usually go to KFC, but their are two photos of the "old" and the "new" McDonalds frontages, and I've gotta tell ya, the old, white-fronted building looks a lot nicer than the new, "terra cotta" fronted building. I might nip into a local McDonalds tomorrow, see if I like the interior changes....
