Zero Gravity Business Growth: Frito Lay

Frito-Lay brands account for 59% of the U.S. snack chip industry. With 45,000 employees and over $140B in revenue - they are a powerhouse in the snack food industry. As you all know, I'm on a rampage to expand the way we measure out business success to be more than just about profits. We need to move from a blazing lack of integrity and ethics to a socially responsible mindset. Frito Lay is already ahead of that game.

For over 70 years, Frito Lay has been taking steps to reduce impact on the earth. Here are some of their moves:

• Imagine a future where chip bags won't end up in landfills, where used packaging will be given a second lifecycle as an everyday product, like a clipboard, tote bag, or trash can. That's what Frito Lay's partnership with Terracycle delivers, thanks to Terracycle's innovative upcycling. But that's not all Frito Lay does.

• They've already shifted one-third of their 32 plants to "zero landfill" in 2009. All plants will reach zero landfill by the end of 2011. They've put together a composite of the production line that makes deliciously green chips.

• In 2009 they began using over 1,000 new Sprinter trucks that get 50% more miles/gallon than their older trucks.

• Their Arizona plant is currently working to cut electricity and water usage by 90%. By early 2011, the complete retrofit will mean that the plant can run almost entirely on renewable energy and recycled water. They'll also be reducing their landfill to less than 1%.

• By the way - Frito Lay is also delivery in healthy snacks for all of us - focusing on our own personal health as well as the health of the planet. How's that for caring? :)

Frito Lay is a giant in business. But they're also a giant for the planet. I wish more businesses - large and small - would follow their lead.

I don’t know about b2b marketing but I have done marketing so know things about it. I will suggest you to take online services which will spread your business all over web network. Online marketing is the best way to market any business.[/quote:428owzbi] B2B = Business to Business - You are marketing to other businesses. B2C = Business to Consumer - You are marketing to consumers.
