There is a growing population who are taking action and making a change. They have the desire to take a different route, a route that many have heard about but have also questioned at the same time. You see we grew up listening to our parents and grandparents telling us to go to school and get an education. Then go to college and once you graduate, get a job with a good company. A company with a good reputation that will provide full benefits, a retirement plan, and the ability to move up the corporate ladder. That philosophy is changing drastically every day. Layoffs are happening left and right and job security no longer exists. Companies are cutting costs and that might be your benefits or 401(k). Not only that, but you work 40+ hours a week, have very little time to spend with your friends and family and a small paycheck that just barely covers the bills and a good dinner out once a month. Did you know that over a billion people use the internet every day? We have the ability to communicate with anyone, anywhere in a matter of seconds thanks to the internet. In 2008, there were 1.3 billion email users worldwide. Over 210 billion emails were sent. At the end of 2008 there were 186 million registered websites. 31 million were registered in 2008 alone. While there may be a recession taking place across the globe internet purchases are up 20% this year. These numbers are only going to do one thing, and that's increase. Unlike owning a local store that has hours of operation from 9am-6pm and is only accessible to those within your geographic area, the internet is working 24/7/365 worldwide. Your business is running while you are taking the kids to soccer practice, while you're on vacation and even while you sleep.
Your Daily Commute To Work
People travel to and from work in many different ways. Car, bike, bus, subway, and if your really lucky you can walk. Some commutes are a piece of cake while others may take up to an hour or more one way. That sounds miserable. What if you had an internet business and a laptop? How would you like that commute each morning? If you are at home you can be working within a matter of seconds. Since all you need is a laptop and an internet connection you can work anywhere. Imagine taking a trip once a month in which you were gone for a week. Just a few hours of work in the morning and then your off to enjoy your vacation. You can't do that working for someone else.

The best thing about being an entrepreneur is that you are in control. That is the ultimate job security. You no longer have to depend on your company succeeding to make sure you receive a paycheck every two weeks.
