What is the key to making money online from home? There are so many businesses to choose from today, which one do I choose? We all know that there are many disreputable businesses on the internet. Most people with any amount of discernment at all can sort those out. So what is the real reason most people who want to work on the internet do not?

I honestly believe the answer to the last question is so very simple. They simply don’t want to bad enough. Sure they want more money, but do they want to do something extra to earn it? Usually the answer is, no. The majority of people who want more in life than what they have will whine and cry about wanting things to change but they will never take action to change it. Making a decision to do something to change your life and then taking action to do just that is one of the biggest reasons for failure in most people’s lives. But there is another reason for inaction in many people’s lives that I would like to discuss in this article.

Let’s get right down to it. It’s simply believing that you can. It’s simply believing that you can build your own successful online business. It’s simply believing that you can make money from home. It’s simply believing that you too can be financially free. I know it sounds so simple but that is the truth. When you believe strong enough in yourself and the desire for your dreams and goals you will take action to accomplish those dreams and goals. So the real question should be how to get to the place where we believe enough to finally take action? I will share with you what Charmayne and I did to get to that point.

First we want you to know that we are no one special. We are just average people with no special skills and talents. The only difference that I can see in us is that we had a dream and desire that was big enough to cause us to take action to achieve those dreams. Our dream and desire was really simple to start with. We just wanted to be home together. We wanted to work from home together. We didn’t want to go our separate ways to different jobs. We didn’t want our time to be controlled by someone else. We talked about it all the time. The more we talked about it the larger the dream became until it was a burning desire in both of us. When we first started to talk about working from home fulltime we didn’t believe we could. We also did not have an online business at the time. We just had a burning desire. The desire was strong enough to cause us to begin looking for ways to create the income to be home fulltime.

We didn’t know what we were going to do or how we were going to do it. We just knew we needed to find a way to make more money than what we were making and we wanted to do that from home. A funny thing happened. The more we investigated online home based businesses the more we began to believe that we could do an internet business too. We listened to and read other peoples stories and the belief grew even more. I do believe taking action, even in a small way was key. It’s like a far off light at night. You can see it in the distance and it seems so small. But as you move towards it, it begins to grow and grow until you can make it out clearly. Your dreams and goals are the same. As you take action to move towards them they will grow and the way to achieve them will become clear.

We tried a few things but with very little or no success. The key to that was, we didn’t give up or quit. And the more systems we tried the more our belief grew. Sure, we became discouraged. We just never allowed ourselves to remain discouraged. We would pick ourselves back up and we would keep going on. When we became discouraged we would remind ourselves of our dreams and we would tell ourselves that we could do it too. Then we would try something else. As we moved towards our goals the belief grew within us that we could achieve them. The same will happen to you. Identify what you want in life that your job cannot provide. Think about it and talk about it. Keep talking about it until it becomes a burning desire. When it becomes a burning desire you then need to take action to do more than what you have been doing to achieve it. Find the online in-home business that suits you and start it part time from home.

If you want more in your life bad enough you will find a system that will work for you. If you want it bad enough you will find the extra time to work your new online business. If you want it bad enough you will remain persistent until you achieve your dreams. It really all comes down to you and your desires. There really is no “magic” business that will just hand out money to you with no effort. Yes there are good and bad home based internet businesses. If you keep looking the goods are out there to be found. Just don’t give up. There is no such thing as failure unless you give up and quit. We did it and you can do it too. We believe in you!

Re: Which would you start: a Blog or Online Community? - It is a difficult decision to make. Lets start it this way - What are you more interested in? Money? or Friends? or Both? If its purely Money, then Blog might be an appropriate answer. But consider this - It will be people (visitors) that will bring traffic to your blog and then Money will follow. This will be possible after a time and during this time it will be your friends who will be the starters. If you are looking for friends only, then its true that not many will be interested in knowing how you have beaten them in the game or the other way round. So it will be preferable to have a Forum where they can share ideas with you and others. But you can share your insider knowledge with them and invite comments from your Blog. You can also put up information on what others (including your friends) don't know about Tennis. The blog you create can provide News, Inside Information and also Techniques that can be used by the new entrants in the world of Tennis.
QuickBooks vs. Microsoft Money vs....? - I have always used Microsoft Money to run my business - accounting, invoicing, etc. It came with my computer when I got it and integrated well with my online banking system so everything is a breeze. It only takes 30-60 minutes every quarter to do the bookkeeping (keep in mind that I have a very simple business - no inventory, very little invoicing, I do all my payments by credit card, etc). Is QuickBooks or Money the best accounting tool for small business owners? Or is there something even better?
Magnetic Ads - Biz Idea - Attn Young Entrepreneurs looking for a Business Idea. This came to me while sitting in Traffic for about 1 hour while looking and laughing at ridiculous bumper stickers. Note: this idea is rough but will help get the idea-momentum going. Idea: Sell advertising on the back of cars in the form of reusable magnetic signs (about the length of 2 or 3 bumper stickers) Most people shouldn't have reservations to participating if they get a cut of the monthly fee you charge the company advertising and it doesn't hurt their car. An example of a Magnetic Ad: Geico: I saved 15% on my Car Insurance. Call 1-800-U-SAVE-15 You don't have to pay the cost associated with creating the Magnetic Ad because you will advise the company that this belongs to them and you can get them in touch with someone who created reusable magnets. So your basically managing two sides: 1. Company's that want to advertise 2. People in your neighborhood (to start) who will put the ads on their car. Bigger cars can have more than one ad.
