Profitable Online Business Ideas and the Recession; In-Home Business or a Job

A job or working for someone else is a way to put food on the table. It pays most of the bills, but most of the time not all of them. We are taught that's what we need to do, work a job. But in today's business climate and economy, is it really the financially smart thing to do? In this article I'd like to look at the differences between a job and your own home based business.

Let's look at a job first. There is an old saying; the word job stands for" just over broke". The reason is an employer will only pay you what it costs to replace you. And if he can find someone who can do the job equally as good as you for less money, he usually will. And that doesn't mean the employer is an evil man, he is just trying to save and make his business money. That's just business. A company needs to cut costs at every turn. The business world is becoming more and more competitive. We are in a global economy and our own government is not for American business. Our own American businesses are being forced to compete with businesses in China. And the labor costs in China are considerably less than here in the states. With that said, American businesses are not going to pay their employee's anymore than they have too. If you are working for someone else you are basically trading your time for dollars.

Not only are you not making enough money if you work for someone else, you are probably working for someone you don't like, with people you don't like and at a job you don't like. Over ninety percent of people who are working a job admit to this. Not only do they not like their job, the average person commutes one and a half to two hours a day to and from work. So if you work eight hours a day, you are really away from home over ten hours. If you live in a metropolitan area it could be much more. In your larger metropolitan areas commuting could easily be four hours or more.

One of the issues most overlooked by the working public is company loyalty. It used to be said in the past, and I was told this too, "Get a good education and then get a good job with a good company and you will be taken care of." Not anymore! Very few companies have any loyalties to their employee's anymore. We have all heard of the person who worked all their life for a company only to get fired a few months before retirement. This happened to a friend of mine. The point is there is no security anymore working for a company. In reality what does security mean anyway? Most people want a good stable floor under them with a company. Well, think about it. If you have a floor under you, it means you have a ceiling above you. You can only go so high and there is only so much you can make. You need to take control of your own destiny.

Now let's look at an online in-home business. True, you're starting at the bottom, but there is no ceiling to what you can do or make income wise. No boss. No commute. No weird fellow employee's. You can work from home when you feel like it. The startup cost is minimal. To work your online home based business while on vacation all you need is a laptop and a cell phone. Once you set it up it runs almost on autopilot. A legitimate online business will have a training system in place so you are not alone and learning by trial and error. So many people today are opting out of the rat race for a better lifestyle, and how they are doing this is with an online home based business.

You can do this too! There are some very good systems online. You don't have to do it alone, help is there for you. Business on the internet is growing at a lightening pace. If you have been thinking and dreaming of how you can get out of the corporate rat race, now is the time. In fact the time has never been better. Millions of people all over the world are thinking the same thoughts. Why don't you be the one to show them how and benefit from helping them. You can do it, we believe in you. Start to make your dreams come true today!

As a Research and Development Intern I am required to practice my listening and interview skills by surveying Small and Medium Businesses on thier Business. This Survey is designed by RSC Business to also assist the Business being interviewed more insight into their own business. I am looking to interview about 30 businesses across North America over the span of 3 months. At the end of these interviews I will be publishing a report of the results and they will be made available for free to the Interviewees. The Report data will include responses from a minimum of 100 interviews. I would like to extend this opportunity to members of the Forum. If you would like to have this short 20-30 minute interview conducted on your Business and you reside in North America please send me an email or PM. Please contact me at andy[at]jvprosperity[dot]com to arrange our interview and to get free access to the results when they are published.
