They agonize over the things going wrong in their life, but nothing changes. In truth, things usually get worse.

In the last article we discussed the need for change. Without the willingness to change, nothing will change in our life and circumstances. We can want change or things to change all we want. We can want change or desire for changes in our life till we are blue in the face, but nothing will happen till we take a step towards that change. You hear people all the time talking about wanting things to change in their lives, but sadly nothing ever does. Why? They seem to want things to change. They agonize over the things going wrong in their life, but nothing changes. In truth, things usually get worse.

I believe the reason lies in the fact that most people are afraid of change and therefore they do not act. They never take a step to move in the direction of the change they want. Which brings us to the next key, you must act, you must move forward in the direction of the change you want in life. You must first make a decision and then implement that decision every day. Most people are so afraid of change that they never make a decision to act. And until you make that decision and then implement that decision every day, nothing will change in your life.

The most common question I hear is how do I start, what do I do first? One of the first things and the most productive things you can do to start is to write down on paper the things you want. I'll say that again, write down on paper the things you want in life. Don't write down the bad things in your life. You want to keep this on a positive note. Write down the good things you want in your life, no matter how big or unattainable they may seem. Keep that paper with you all the time and read it out loud to yourself several times a day. There are a few reasons people never take action to change their lives.

One of the first and biggest reasons is fear. You will never conquer fear until you take that first step of action. There is an old saying. Do the thing you fear the most, over and over, and you will master the thing you fear the most. The next reason people never act to change their lives is that they don't believe they can change. Many thousands of people through the years have changed their lives. People you would never think could. If just one person could change, why can't you? Why not you? Here is a key. Remember the paper in the last paragraph? Read it out loud to yourself several times a day. When you read it out loud, your ears hear and it goes into your brain and your mind. When you read it over and over to yourself you will start to believe you will create faith that you can change and have the things you desire. Without faith and belief in yourself, nothing will ever change in your life. Reading the things on your paper out loud to yourself may sound silly or even foolish, but please, don't underestimate the power of this. It is a powerful truth.

One of the next and very important things you can do to implement change in your life is to empower yourself with knowledge. Read positive books. Read positive articles on what you do want in life. There you will find more information you can use to empower yourself. But most importantly, take action! Until you take that first step of action, nothing in your life will change. Take that first step today.

I just worked on getting new customers, managed the projects to completion and helped create Marketing Plans for my clients (Online and Offline). *Canada* When I was studying the in the States I also made some money as a Part-time Flight instructor. *USA*

The Best Business Books Ever: The 100 Most Influential Business Books You'll Never Have Time to Read - this is a fascinating book about the history of Business theory, and I'd recommend it to anybody. 2. The Big Book of Small Business: You Don't Have to Run Your Business by the Seat of Your Pants, by Tom Gegax. Ditto. 3. PADI: The Business of Diving Book Okay, so this book won't be of use to anyone who doesn't want to start a scuba store, but I did, and this book was of course invaluable to me in reaching that goal.
