Profitable Online Home Based Business Ideas and the Recession; It’s Not About the Money

     If you desire to build your own profitable online home based business, I believe one of the most important questions you need to answer for yourself is, why? Most people will say, "I want to make a lot of money." To that I say, it's ok to make a lot of money, and I sincerely hope you do, and I believe you can. But if that's your only motivation I believe your focus is wrong. Let's look at why.

     True if you work at a job or own your own business you need to make money at both. A business needs to be profitable or it won't be operating for very long. Likewise a person needs to make a decent wage at his or her job too. I get a real kick out of people who say they just "love" their jobs. When you do something out of love, you don't give the person a bill. If their employer refused to give them a paycheck I'm sure they would be looking for another job in a heartbeat! But that's a little off point. We need to make money, but why? It's so we can purchase what we need to survive and enjoy our lives. Creating your own profitable successful online business won't happen overnight. I'm here to tell you that you will have struggles and yes, your business needs to make money. But when you are going through those struggles and it seems it's just "never" going to work, what is going to keep you motivated to continue on in spite of the struggles?

     We must all remember, money is just a tool. It is used to purchase what we need in life. It is what we use to purchase our dreams. Don't dream and concentrate on the money. Don't use money as the motivating factor to build your home based internet business. It's like a drill. I don't know anyone who has ever purchased a drill just because they want a drill. You really don't want a drill. What you really want is the "hole" that the drill can produce. And if you need the hole bad enough than you will go out and buy a drill to get that hole. Money is the same way. You need to really come to grips with why you want to build your own in-home business. Maybe it's to be home with your children. Maybe it's so you don't have to commute four hours a day. Maybe you just hate your boss. Charmayne and I wanted to be home together. To work our online home based business together. And more importantly, to build our dreams and goals together. We got married to be together. We just hated going our separate ways in the morning and being apart all day long. We love working with our horses. We raise and train registered paint horses. Working a job all day long just does not leave you much time to do all the things you need to do. Keeping those things front and centered in our minds and talking about them together all the time kept us focused and committed to our dreams and goals when things were not going the way we wanted them too. Those are our dreams and goals. You need to have a clear vision of your own dreams and goals. Because that is what is going to keep YOU focused and consistent in building your home based business.

     Just focusing on money itself will not keep you motivated when times are tough in building your internet business. You need to have a bigger "why." As humans we were created to have dreams and goals. We need to have a focus and vision for our lives. That's just the way it is. Have you ever noticed retired people who just go home and sit after they retire? They don't live very long. It's because they no longer have any dreams and goals. We were created to always be achieving and accomplishing goals. Make a list of what you want your online in-home business to accomplish for you. And read them and think about them every day and believe that your business will accomplish those things for you and your family. Remember, without belief and faith, nothing will happen in your business. If you keep focused and remain persistent and consistent it will work for you too. Start today.
