What is blogging? The term "blog" is used to refer to a web log. Basically, a blog is like an online journal.

Blog marketing is one way to boost the visibility of your products, or services. Here are a few uses for your blog to improve your customers experience with your business through blog marketing.

1. Announce new products or affiliate websites, update clients or customers on website changes.
2. Keep track of your business objectives and plans through open writing. You can archive your posts and search through them later.
3. Publish your thoughts, opinions or strategies with ease. You can also provide reviews on products or services that are related to your business.
4. You can boost your income by adding affiliate links, or you can use links and back links to your website in order to improve search engine rankings and traffic.
5. You can also use blogs to collect a response from readers and gauge your audience. This may help you learn to improve your products, services or marketing techniques through feedback left in comments.
6. Connect easily with other bloggers. When other bloggers see something of interest in your blog, they will link to your blog which can increase traffic as well.

Since blogging has become such a popular pass time with millions of people, you should look into creating your own blog. Remember, when looking for free internet marketing methods, look into blog marketing.

Online marketing/internet marketing/online promotion are the same, and it will be best to use the common term - Internet marketing. I can't think about someone to moderate a Social Marketing category. We all use it, we all know how to make it work and we all have our own different experience with it.

Re: Best Internet Marketing Strategy - Hi David, I agree about the Blogosphere. You have a smaller group that Blog, but do so on the premise that they think they should, but have never really considered the purpose of their Blog. Then I think there are a few SEO or Internet Marketing types that see Blogging as just another link building strategy. But the largest group of Bloggers, tend to be people who enjoy writing and discussing their topics of interest. Blogging is good for link building, but the true Blogger is a breed apart from the rest. They want to dialog, to debate, to have feedback and they are very willing to link to other worthwhile conversations that are relevant to their topic. I agree with you. These group of Bloggers obviously are passionate about their writing and together, they create huge conversation trails interactive and travel from Blog to Blog. But the evidence is clear with this group that loves what they write about. With comments enabled on a Blog and having a Blog tuned to a specific purpose you already have the evidence of original Social Media.
Re: What is your Business? - We are running a Online Marketing Firm and we have some good clients to which we are offering a complete Digital Marketing strategy like Search, Mobile Marketing, Branding and Design. I think in Online Marketing company online presence can be a wining factor for the success of the company.
Internet Marketing Conference on SLife - I've been trying to log in but it keeps crashing.. anyways.. a friend of mine in BC plans on holding Internet Marketing Conferences on SecondLife and have the same top internet marketers that would normally be in Live Internet Marketing conference speak. Income will be generated from admission charges, product sales during breaks, sponsor tables, etc etc.. Just to get the ideas flowing in your head that anything you can do in the real world can be replicated in SL. There is no planned date as of yet for this conference.
