How to Make Your Online Article More Effective by Defining Your Target Audience
Writing an online article is an effective low cost method to bring high quality customers to your website. Contrary to what many people believe, it is easy to do as well. You can use online articles to establish yourself as an authority on topics or in your career field. Online articles are also used to market your products or services to new or existing markets. The way to make your online article most effective is to define your target audience.
One of the fundamental steps to learn when writing an effective article is to define who your target audience is. If you are writing an article on a stereo system or home theater system that you liked, you could address a person interested in "stereos" which is broad; or you could address people interested in "brand X stereo for home theater." The second option is further defined, thus more effective. The tighter the group you are targeting with your article, the more they will relate to your article.
In order to have an effective article you need to relate to the audience. Another effective way to target your audience is by asking several questions before you start writing, and see what answers you may come up with. These questions may include:
1.) What terminology do they use, whether industry or genre specific?
2.) How do they pass their leisure time?
3.) How much do they make at their jobs?
4.) What do they value?
5.) What kind of work do they do?
6.) What problems do they have that you may be able to help them with?
Defining your audience is a great way to make your article effective whether it is for marketing or purely educational. Once you define your audience, you will help them relate to your product or service better.
Remember when writing your article, the more specific the better.
