By inserting a bit of HTML and JavaScript code onto your web pages, you give your visitors a quick and easy way to bookmark or share your content with quite a number of social networking sites such as Facebook or Twitter. The code generates a button on the web page that, when clicked, presents the viewer with a long list of over 50 social networking applications from which to choose. Select your favorite and you're connected with that site immediately.

For instance, if you want to share this article on Twitter you simply click the AddThis button and choose Twitter from the list. It automatically takes you to your Twitter home page and even fills in the message box for you. All you have to do is click "update" to share with all your Twitter followers. You can choose to use one of the many default button styles or totally customize it via API or the new Toolbox function.

Track The Analytics

In and of itself, this is fantastic - but the news gets even better. You may also sign up to receive free analytics generated when viewers share your content. So, not only are you getting valuable word of mouth exposure, you can also see the top sharing trends, top content shared, top services used, and geographic details about the viewers who share your content. And you can also export this analytics data to Excel or a tab delimited file.
