3 Simple Steps to Quickly Grow Your Email Newsletter List

You may already know that the quickest and most simple way to reach out to potential clients is to put a solid follow-up system in place. But after you set up your autoresponder and get ready to launch your email marketing campaign, there is still work to be done: You have to findnewsletter subscribers (a.k.a. potential clients).

Here are three simple steps you can take to quickly increase your newsletter subscribers:

1. Step one to a larger email newsletter list: Offer them something irresistible.

Just saying, “Sign up for my free newsletter” isn’t enough in the face of thousands of other newsletter options out there. Your potential clients’inboxes are crowded enough, so they need a compelling reason to hand over their email address. Your best bet is to offer something free in exchange for their name and email address. This free goody could be a special report, an article that’s loaded with useful info, or an audio clip that answers their pressing questions (and promotes your expertise at the same time!).

2. Step two to a larger email newsletter list: Remind them to finish subscribing.

Because of current anti-SPAM laws, most autoresponder programs require end users to confirm their subscriptions before you can start sendingemails to them. Unfortunately, though, you can end up with dozens or even hundreds of potential readers who were interested in what you have to say but never finished the subscription process and made it onto your email list. To avoid this, change the automatic confirmation email subject line from the simple “Please confirm your subscription,” which is boring and won’t always cause potential readers to take action, tosomething like, “One more step to your free report!” The bottom line is that you want to remind them why they signed up and that you’ve got good info to share.

3. Step three to a larger email newsletter list: Display your newsletter signup form on each page of your website.

Just having your sign-up form on one section, like the About or Contact Us page, will ensure that everyone who comes to your site through different pages will never even know that you have a newsletter. To get the most possible takers, you have to make the sign-up process available to each and every visitor who comes to your site.

Follow these simple steps, and you will soon have a solid group of warm leads that you can follow up with regularly. If you set a regular scheduleto remind your list that you’re the service provider who can help them improve their lives/get more money/etc., you’ll soon find that email marketing is a powerful tool to help you get more clients for your business.

Perhaps the EvanCarmichael.com Forum e-Newsletter can be a "tweaked" version of the existing weekly email that's sent to moderators? What do you guys think? Maybe the e-newsletter should be customizable like an RSS feed?
