Ways to Store and Share PowerPoint Training Files in Company
More and more companies realize the importance of employee training these years. No matter it is for in-house training or offsite training. One question raises up: why training becomes so popular?
1. Training is the key to success for many reasons
This is not about investment in employees, but the investment in the company. Training can be a long term investment, but it creates a significant short-term advantage. If employees can attend some decent training courses, you get an employee that is better qualified for the job. It gives the emloyees confidence to do their jobs, reduces their tension, boosts their job satisfaction, gives them a chance to advance.
2. Training has a positive effect on recruitment
Sending staff to the training courses sends the message that they are valuable and encouraged to do better jobs. Many people want to learn new things, because it keeps the work interesting. The work becomes less frustrating, when in reality they learn more and become skillful on their jobs. An aggressive training program is a strong element to attract new talents.
Regarding the tools for creating the training content, PowerPoint pops up in most people's eyes. As almost every company has MS PowerPoint installed on computers, and it is easy to use with powerful presentation ability. Once PowerPoint training files become huge, most companies face one problem: how to store these training materials or share these files easily with staff, and make the most out of the training materials.
Here are some ideas for solving these problems:
- Set a public share folder in company.Put all the PowerPoint training files in the folder it. But there is one disadvantage: the staff can only view the training files in company with Web access in local area network.
- Burn all the PowerPoint training files onto a DVD with a PowerPoint to DVD converter. Send each staff a copy, and then they can view the training files freely with a computer or DVD player.
- Upload the PowerPoint training files on company's own site or blog. To do this, you can either share the files with a download link or directly display PowerPoint as video or Flash files. (Free tool you can use: Acoolsoft PPT to Video Free)
- If there is a digital signage hanging in the office, you can also make the video you create from PowerPoint training file play continuously on it. It helps employees memorize things better.
Training given to employees not only gives opportunities for them to grow, but also brings lots of benefits to company. Choosing a good way to deliver PowerPoint training files helps enhance the effectiveness of training.

Re: iPhone Apps: Biz Idea!
- San Diego, California – Got an idea for a killer iPhone app? With more than 1 billion applications sold since its launch last July, Apple’s iPhone App Store has become one of the fastest-growing tech enterprises in recent history, and gained a reputation as something of a developer’s goldmine. Success stories such as that of Ethan Nicholas, whose iShoot app has earned him $900,000 in eight months, have only added to the App Store’s appeal for would-be iPhone entrepreneurs.
“The runaway success of the App Store has created the legend of the iPhone millionaire,” says Ian Maskell, principal of iPhone App Freelancer, a company aiming to make it possible to get your idea into the App Store without technical knowledge and minimal financial outlay.
“Everywhere we went people would say: ‘I’ve got a great idea for an app.’ We saw an opportunity to level the playing field and allow anyone the ability to become the next success story, regardless of their ability to program or write code.”
So Maskell launched iPhone App Freelancer, a website offering the ability to turn great ideas into apps with little or no programming knowledge.
Rob Shoesmith, a 27-year-old garbage collector from Coventry – England, submitted one of the first ideas to iPhone App Freelancer for development. Shoesmith says he has only had an iPhone for a few months, but has been following the growth of the App Store since its launch. He wants to keep the specifics of his app under wraps until its launch, but describes it as a user-generated advice service.

Re: Exotic Tea Shop Website for Review
- Hi David,
- Background is nice and fitting, but I don't like the header. The title completely blends in with the background?
- About Us shouldn't be second from the left on the navigation bar. People read from left to right. The commercial intent is to buy, the online store should probably be second.
- Online Tea Store... too many choices without supplementary information. No description of product choice. oz and pricing should be stylized separately from the name of the product.
- Online Tea Store.... Visuals is definitely very important in raising commercial intent. Someone who comes to the site through SEO is searching for exotic teas and not particulars. Meaning they're browsing. Text is not enough for a browsing shopper.
- World of Tea... the information can be organized a bit better. Again, visuals. Some of this info belongs to online tea store. I'm not too sure on the name.
- Tea & Treasure... not sure on this name either... mainly because you have "World of Tea" next to it. Navigation should be transparent in conveying information to the users. Why not call it "Find Us" or "Visit Us"?
- Email newseletter.... "occasional updates" containing what exactly?
Again, my humble opinion. Hope you find it useful!
