Prioritise your business’s needs!

It is amazing how some businesses fail to prioritise the most important aspects of their brand. After recently meeting up with a business owner, who self-confessed that they had put their online development aside for a few months, it was clear that they had forgotten about the importance of brand awareness and recognition. Where does anyone look if they want to find out more information about a company!? The internet! How? Via the search engine! Therefore it is a) essential you have a high search engine ranking for visibility purposes and b) control the reputation of your brand by responding to negative publicity.

Dismissing online activity as a company is a big mistake today. Without this online presence, a company will simply fail to maintain new interest and remain unaware of how potential new customers perceive them.

I was amazed to discover that this company's only main marketing route is via the 200,000 email subscribers they have- how will they ever increase their customer base if they target the same people!? Apparently through word of mouth.....

Some companies who neglect social media are just being stubborn, but fair enough others are unsure of what route to take in this relatively new market due to lack of knowledge- if so what is stopping you learning? Why do all the biggest brands in the world use networks such as Twitter? Because they are aware of the benefits involved and presents the perfect platform to sell themselves in front of a mass audience.

Another astounding fail was their website. A website is the home of a company, an opportunity to sell to a customer and distinguish a first impression. Therefore why would you prioritise web development and appearance at the bottom of the list, when it is clear that obvious errors exist on the site!?

Still every brand has a unique method or strategy for success. If it works fair enough, although you can never be confident in saying that you are maximising your sales potential because there is always room for improvement.

Make sure your business strategy is well managed and focussed on improving the important aspects of the company rather than the less essential. Construct a plan that you will be comfortable and confident with and see how far you can go in the online market.

The competitiveness of today's market means that no one can afford to neglect important marketing tools and the opportunity to progress potential leads.

If you need help developing an online strategy or just interested in improving your brand's awareness please do not hesitate to get in touch and see how we can help you.
