It does not matter if you are doing network marketing on the internet or belly to belly this concept is critical to your success. If you can embrace this early on in your business career you will be one of the three percent that actually make it.

This is a very simple idea but very hard for the majority of network marketers to grasp. Your success will come if you:

Commit to learning and applying what you learn each day.

It is that simple. Growing your business on the internet seems like an exciting opportunity. But the reality is that most network marketers get online and spend way more money than they generate. There are so many systems, gadgets, and tools that promise you instant success with little or no work. Getting caught in this trap is very easy.

When I first started marketing my business online I found myself sucked into this downward spiral. Honestly I believed the sales letters that promised you if you purchased their super, shiny, deluxe marketing tool it would bring thousands of people to you within the day! This process of learning was tough. It is when I started to look beyond the hype that I found good resources. These resources helped me start to build a strong foundation of knowledge.

This is NOT the “easy button”. But, it is the button you must push if you truly want to build a successful network marketing business online for the long term. Get used to buying and studying courses from successful people. It is only when you commit to this daily learning that you will experience a transformation. You will see this in your business as you start to apply what you are learning. As it occurs you are becoming more and more valuable to your prospects. As you become more valuable you start to attract others who want to work with you.

Commit to learning and applying:

Three sound marketing techniques.

Focus on one marketing technique at a time until you get very good at it. Then move onto the next one. Learning and mastering three types to start out with will create a foundation for your business.

Communication Skills

Regardless of your business type you need to communicate with people. When you are marketing online these skills can make or break the growth of your business. Put a special focus on learning copywriting skills as this will benefit you for years to come.

Leadership Skills

Face it if you want to be successful in network marketing you must be a leader. Are you a born leader? Probably not. Some of the most successful leaders in this industry learned how to be leaders. Embrace this learning as it too will skyrocket your success.

It is time to put your game face on. Take the time and energy to learn and you will experience the vast possibilities that internet network marketing offers!

Re: Kevin's Case Study #11 - A New Forum Category? - Hi Kevin, Like GT suggested, I also think you can add Internet Marketing as a sub category in the Marketing section and also a Social marketing as subcategory. Online marketing/internet marketing/online promotion are the same, and it will be best to use the common term - Internet marketing. I can't think about someone to moderate a Social Marketing category. We all use it, we all know how to make it work and we all have our own different experience with it.
Why do people hate Network Marketing / MLM? - I've been looking at a number of different opportunities and end up meeting a lot of Network Marketing / Multi-Level Marketing people. Some of the offers look interesting but everyone I talk to about it says to avoid these guys like the plague - what's the deal? Why do people hate network marketers and MLM people so much? Is it not legit?
Re: MLM Marketing, youtube, and buzzirk mobile. - I have experience with MLM too. My initial reaction to the business was "snake-oil salesman" but once I got to understand the "overall business model" I am now an advocate to it. MLM (Multi-Level Marketing) is also known as Network Marketing. I realized an MLM business is no different than any other business. One needs to focus on both words "Network" and "Marketing" and give both equal respect. Some people focus heavily on the Networking part but forget "Marketing". I've started to use Building on a Budget and Magnetic Sponsoring concepts in my NM business and have found that people don't get involved so much because of the product but more because of what you bring to the table as far as marketing systems and support. I have both products listed in my signature. you don't have to buy it as the link to the free videos itself provides you a good understanding of what is required to position yourself as my above paragraph. If you do plan on purchasing it I can tell you that the measly $40 will open your eyes BUT your upline will not be too happy (atleast in the short term) beacuse the system is not duplicateable. I wrote this post as a polar post to Bulmer's reply as I have exhausted the friends and family networking and realized i never really focused on marketing. My leads now are more qualified and open to hearing about my opportunity than the other way around. my 2 cents if you plan on growing an MLM or Networking Marketing business.
