Writing a headline seems pretty simple, doesn't it? Just give your piece a title that tells what the story is about and you're done. However, if you want a headline that is compelling to your target market and makes them take action, a bit more work is involved.

The very first step in writing a headline is to uncover every possible benefit of the subject of your content -- your product, your service, your program, your article, your book, your special report. This is good preliminary work for any headline formula. The reason is clear: benefits are your best sales tool.
