The Top 10 Home Staging Ideas During The Holidays

The Top 10 Home Staging Ideas During The Holidays

Here are some of my favorite tips and suggestions how to decorate your home during any holiday season: 1. Use white lights in your windows in the evening. They’re simple and classic. 2. Take a step back. Does the room you just decorated still look spacious? 3. Natural greens in vases, on windowsills, and anywhere you can put them are festive, inexpensive, and omit a great natural odor. 4. If possible, stick to solid color items instead of lots of patterns. You can keep some of these items up and use them in a different way for the next holiday. 5. Balance your rooms. In other words, don’t have all your decorations and furnishing on one side of a room and nothing on the other. The room will feel awkward to viewers. 6. Use your vertical space evenly around the room. If you put some items up high on walls, be consistent around the room. 7. Distribute your accent color around the room. If you love bright turquoise ornaments, make sure you use a touch of that color around the room so that people’s eyes aren’t glued to one stand out accessory. 8. Try not to use more than 2/3 of a wall space. 9. If at all possible, leave a 3 foot walking path around the room. 10. Many people like to light candles for showings. I’m not a big fan of that because not every buyer likes the odors of certain scents. LED lights create a beautiful ambiance and are safe.

For example, the Home & Garden Industry is extremely behind the time in regards to their websites. I attended an Home & Garden Expo in Denver and collected all the companies contact information. I plan on cold calling & mailing information to each business. It also gave me time to research the industry more, talk directly to the owners in many cases, and learn more about what they need. Jeff
Re: What is your worst / best month? - Best months for my business are historically March/April/May & August/Sept/Oct Worst months: December/January (Holidays) & June/July (Vacations) I see our traffic go way up during the good months and way down during the bad months. Very cyclic. Keep in mind, my clients buy businesses and no one thinks of doing that during the holiday or during vacation.
