How Do You Define Internet Marketing?
Internet marketing is defined byus as leveraging the most connected and widely spread information distribution tool (the internet) by enabling and positioning consumers to advertise your brand. By engaging and making your brand accessible, you must engage and provide them an incentive. When you provide an incentive, you give consumers a reason to promote your brand.
Internet marketing gives us the ability to bypass expensive and obsolete static outbound advertising by replacing it with dynamic and creative holistic campaigns that can span globally, both vertically and horizontally, throughout your current and potential customer base.
Traditionally, Internet Marketing was predominately based on SEO (search engine optimization) and quantitative website traffic counts and analysis. However, we are beginning to see that quantity of traffic is secondary to the quality of traffic that Internet marketing could generate. The rules of SEO have changed from key word and Meta data to a system that is almost entirely based on the successful creation of a prominent and widespread online footprint. Information, blended media, thought leadership, reputation and visibility are key components to your brands footprint.
With the recent advent of social media to the internet landscape, the opportunities for expanding your online footprint in a valuable way are endless if leveraged properly and with strategic consideration.
