Social media case study: Vitabiotics

Founded in the 1970's, Vitabiotics is a leading manufacturer of modern, innovative healthcare supplements. Their Products include Perfectil, Pregnacare, Menopace and the Wellwoman range, and are distributed to over 65 countries around the world.

Vitabiotics wanted to use social media to learn more about their customers, promote their products to the main target market, use customers to trial and test new products, and encourage discussion around health and beauty.Social media agency FreshNetworks decided that the best way to do this would be to create a new, bespoke online community, TalkPerfection, to meet the social media brief and to help Vitabiotics engage with their community.

TalkPerfection contains blogs and forums where Vitabiotics can gain insight into the things their customers want from their health and beauty products. A rotating panel of experts is also available for members to pose questions to, allowing Vitabiotics to gain even more insight into their client base.

As a product testing platform, TalkPerfection provides the perfect environment to test products and receive feedback. This is especially effective for new product development, ensuring that Vitabiotics products meet the demands of their consumers.

The TalkPerfection community currently has 13,000 members, and the community continues to grow at an exponential rate. The demographic break down is especially encouraging, with 98% of community members being female with an average age of 38 - which is the key target audience for Vitabiotics supplements.

Engagement is extremely high, with over 1000 blogs and discussions. Over 350 answered questions have been asked to the rotating experts since the community's inception. On top of this over 1000 women have signed up to complete product trials with an impressive 95% completion rate.

Re: From $0.30 to $300 / Day on Google AdSense Part 1 - How To M Re: From $0.30 to $300 / Day on Google AdSense Part 1 - How To M - Hi David - traditionally social media traffic does not convert very well. Search engine traffic is by far and away the best kind of traffic you can get because they are specifically searching for an answer to a problem. Social media traffic are just browsing out of curiosity and usually don`t click through on ads. Social media traffic, however, typically leads to more links to your articles (from bloggers, website owners, forum members, etc) which then in turn boosts your rankings in the search engines. More will come on the AdSense topic in the coming weeks!

Social media sites provide a huge variety of subjects, topics, and discussions to choose from. A social media web site can be defined as a common ground, where individuals gather together to share their views and opinions.
