Autoresponders – Here’s Some More Unusual Uses For Them
You have probably heard about using autoresponders to set up ezines and sales pitches – but there are other just as profitable ways to use them. Here are just a few suggestions.
Thank You’s and Confirmations: Many of the better autoresponders allow you to set up a message system that is activated on receipt of a payment from the major payment processors. You can set up a message to welcome your new customer, give them some details about your business and offer them an opportunity to receive your ezine. Makes your customer feel safe and wanted as well as gives you an opportunity to add them to your list.
Meeting Reminders: Got a series of meetings planned? Then set up a series of messages reminding people of where, when and what. No excuses now!
Training Sessions: Why not offer a short training course on your niche market? One of my site does just this. A great idea that you can copy for your own particular subject area. Just load each course into your autoresponder and encourage people to join.
Invoicing: If you have customers who are regularly invoiced – say on a monthly or quarterly basis – then you can set up an autoresponder to automatically send out these invoices. Of course you can also include sales and promotion information. This works very effectively with consultancy or service based companies.
Business Changes: If you have a lot of business changes happening then keep your staff and customers aware by a series of messages plugged into your autoresponder. In this way everyone gets the important information.
Staff Training: You can set up a group of autoresponders to provide training and company information to new and newly promoted staff.
FAQ’s: If you have a business that generates questions then set up a FAQ page with a link to your autoresponder for more detailed questions. For example if you have a site on dogs then one of your FAQ’s may be about choosing a new puppy. Set up a link to a group of messages on how to choose a new companion.
Support: Your group of messages should start with an acknowledgement of the request as well details of when the request will be answered. You can also send a list of answers to common support requests.
Product Previews: You can increase interest in your products as well as provide your buyer reassurance by offering previews via your autoresponder messages. This works well with high ticket items such as consultancy and training – where you can offer examples. If you have high price physical products you can send out specs, photos etc.
Hopefully this has given you some ideas of how to make the most of your autoresponder. Just remember don’t spam and always double opt in.
