Well a Media Kit is a pack/folder/DVD that is made available to members of the press fraternity who are following up on a publishing opportunity or have heard about your company and want to see if there is a story there! Journalists are short of time and are always working to tight deadlines so give them so you want to help them as much as possible. A published story is great free advertising and you obviously want them to show off your company and product in the best possible way.
A Media Kit is either handed out by your communications department or downloaded from your web site. In its simplest format it is a pdf document at it more complex it is an all singing, all dancing DVD complete with MsPowerPoint presentations.
Your Media Kit contains information in the following three sections:
Contact details
You want them to be able to contact the right person as easily and quickly as possible.

Registered and Head office address.
Business cards.
Company information
Think of it as a snapshot of your business.
