Your Mailing List – How to Get Sign Ups

Your mailing list – the key to improving your internet marketing – but how do you build up your list?

1. Write yourself a report or small ebook – about 10 pages is sufficient. Give it a catchy title, make it an interesting subject and put your web site and contact details inside it. This is the reward for your subscribers.
2. Set yourself up with a good autoresponder system or service.
3. Set up an opt in form on your web site – offering your ebook as an incentive to sign up. Ensure that you state that emails are not sold – and keep to it!
4. If you have a physical location give out cards asking for permission to include your customers on your mailing list.
5. If you have a conventional mailing list –include these cards in your correspondence or direct your customers to your web site to sign up.
6. When you send out products to your customers include these cards in the package.
7. Some autoresponder services include an IPN to PayPal allowing you to automatically include buyers to your list - subject to them confirming their subscription via an opt in confirmation email.
8. Write articles and include your sign up list email address in the resource box.
9. Contribute to other web sites including your list email address.
10. Trade content with other complimentary web sites and put your list email address as a reference.
11. Post useful information on forums and bulletin boards with your list link.
12. Add your ezine to ezine directories.
13. Set up small ads on other ezines.
14. Place ads in search engines and portals.
15. Give products to joint ventures that provide gifts to visitors as a list building exercise.
16. Offer your ezine to your affiliates – or set one up just for them.
17. Include your list link in your eBay shop.

Lastly make the contents of your list interesting to as many people as possible.

Re: Eng Lit Academic Site Up For Review Re: Eng Lit Academic Site Up For Review - Hi Dave, - The font for the text on the left, the welcome message, is too small. - The copy can be a bit stronger, esp. if i'm going to be purchasing Eng Lit essay. - Mailing list subscription module doesn't really say what's in it for the subscriber. What am I subscribing to? What's the value? - Ad placement of the Amazon widget is questionable. Why the repeat and why the vertical misalignment? - Too much padding on both sides too little room in the middle for crucial information. - Essays on the navigation bar should probably be second from the left. Just my humble opinion. I think the information organization and presentation can be done a bit better.
Re: How do you make the most of your day? Re: How do you make the most of your day? - Here are a couple things I do to get lots done. First, I work from a weekly To Do List (although I should call it an Action List) rather than a daily list. Each item on the list must be one specific action required to move one step closer to accomplishing or finishing something. It's similar to what Robert Alan talks about. Each day I prioritize 3 actions that must be completed before the end of the day. I fully commit to those actions. Second, when I really need to focus on something to get the most done possible I work in timed 50 minute increments. That may sound a little loopy but it really works for me plus I feel refreshed working that way. So I literally have a little timer on my desktop that I set to count down from 50 minutes to zero. During that 50 minutes I work without interruption. When the timer goes off I stop whatever I'm doing and take a 10 minute break. You can get an incredible amount of work done working that way without feeling like you're working hard. I don't schedule 8 of those 50 minute time periods because there isn't a need to plus I'm sure you would wear out if you did. If you haven't tried this you might want to give it a try setting just two 50 minute time periods for a couple days and fiercely keeping them without interruptions to see what I mean. I'd love to hear about your experience and any other kind of quirky things that work.
Re: Social Bookmarking Site List Re: Social Bookmarking Site List - Good List - over time these resources will be weeded out though . . . look for the tools that are more used to organize, well, tools. Addthis has done a great job of that - its like everyone inventing the wheel at once sometimes however.
Re: History of Women in Business in the United States Re: History of Women in Business in the United States - Yes. Women have increasingly made positive economic contributions to society and their position is being recognized more and more as seen on the Forbes List of Executive Women. In general, women can be a bit more practical in their approach as entrepreneurs too.
Re: An 18 minute plan of managing your day Re: An 18 minute plan of managing your day - Hi Yinka, Thanks for the article. I write out a daily To Do List (I've never successfully managed a Stephen Covey-style weekly plan), and cross off the tasks as I go. However, I can definitely see the value of adding the specific time and place that tasks will be done, writing an IGNORE list and also stopping and checking throughout the day plus reviewing at the end. Very useful article. Cheers! DH
