Marketing Made Simple TV beats Mad Marketing TV hands down Mad Marketing TV is the show I hosted for Act-On Software since about Thanksgiving 2011 - tons of great guests on the show. Mad Marketing TV was the brain-child of the former VP of Marketing at Act-On Software, David Applebaum and Jeff Ogden of Find New Customers. David left (He's now VP, Marketing at Sentilla) and the new leadership scaled back the show - from weekly to monthly. We still have great relationships there and wish them all the best. Still, when you have a chance to start over from scratch, you have a chance to implement improvements. Marketing Made Simple TVis our new WEEKLY show and we made three key improvements over Mad Marketing TV that I wish to share:
- A Much Better Show Name Marketing is crazy today, but it's not mad. We need to simplify it. That's why Marketing Made Simple TV is a much better name.
- A Much Better Show Opening Mad Marketing TV starts with blaring music and graphics. I always found that jarring. Marketing Made Simple TV uses a real person to introduce the show - the Marketing Bytes Maven and show producer, Alison Gilbert. A person is a much friendlier opening. I think.
- New Formats and Shows Mad Marketing TV was limited. Only three people could appear on the show. Marketing Made Simple TV has no such limitations, which is why I can schedule a round-table discussion show on Content Marketing with three of the best - Joe Pulizzi, Jim Burns and Doug Kessler.
