Most intimate marketing channel – the smartphone

Mobile is a critical element of B2B Lead Generation programs today.

I cannot walk the streets of Manhattan without seeing people walking while typing on their iPhones, Droids, Blackberries, etc.
One thing becomes crystal clear to me as companies try to embrace mobile in their lead generation programs designed to find new customers:

THE MARKETER THAT BEST EMBRACES MY MOST INTIMATE OF DEVICES WINS MY UNDYING LOYALTY.

iphone4But what does that really mean? Here’s my personal opinion. My undying loyalty does not come cheap. And I’m certainly I’m not atypical.
  • Don’t disrespect me – send me messages during dinner or while sleeping. Have the good sense to personalize it for my time zone.
  • Don’t bore me – and send me lengthy messages that are hard to read.
  • Don’t make it hard for me – to follow-up on what you are asking. Make the Call to Action crystal clear and simple to execute.
  • Don’t annoy me – by sending me email after email. More than one a week is too many.
On the other hand
  • Do make it interesting. Surprise me.
  • Do make it fun. I love fun.
  • Do respect me. Make it easy to change my preferences.
  • Do make it just for me. Customize it by what you know about me.
The next great battle in marketing will be fought over these small, intimate devices. What’s your strategy?

Setting up Revenue Sharing Program Setting up Revenue Sharing Program - Hi Martin I know it must be confusing going through the process of setting up an advertisement when you're not actually going to use it, but it's how it seems to work. For anyone else who has problems with this process, simply follow these instructions courtesy of magnify.net and make sure you have created your Adsense Account and it has been approved. To create a [i:1b5dm29n]new channel[/i:1b5dm29n], go the main AdSense web site, login and click "AdSense Setup", then "Channels", then "Add new custom channels". You can call your channel anything e.g. evancarmichael.com To discover the [i:1b5dm29n]channel number[/i:1b5dm29n] (so you can paste it into the Evan Carmichael Revenue Sharing Program) that has been assigned to your new channel, click "Products" and "AdSense for content", then create an ad (Just hit next, next, next until you reach Get Ad Codes) using your new channel and copy the number from the line that says "google_ad_channel = ". Now enter that number into Evan Carmichael Revenue Sharing Program and you'll be setup.
Channels in Adsense Channels in Adsense - [quote:2ei4dd4s]I have a publisher number on Adsense, but I don't understand the second box down - the channel number.[/quote:2ei4dd4s] If I may answer for Evan, you need to create a new channel, I suggest you call it the EvanChannel, from your Adsense setup page. I dont' know if there's an easier way to do it, but what I had to do was go through the whole process of creating an ad and creating a channel for it. You don't have to use the ad, though. When the html for it comes up, just look for the phrase that says "Channel" - and copy that number, to repaste in the appropriate spot here. This way, you know how many hits/clicks are comng specifically fron this site, as opposed to your other sites. However, the way I understood it initially, we only get credit for clicks if it occurs on the post we created - not on clicks from our responses to other people's posts - they go to the initiator of the thread. Am I wrong?
Youtube Tags and fake newscasts Youtube Tags and fake newscasts - in addition to using Tags I also suggest using a video editing software to embed a line of text at the bottom of your video's to point to your site. I've seen some video where people make their video's look like a news release from a news channel (made up news channel). This is no different that submitting an ad in the newspaper and making it look like an article. Keep the video entertaining with some Richard Branson theatrics...
Re: Hello Everyone Re: Hello Everyone - Kyle, I used to sell cars in Las Vegas. Sold about 300 then the economy went down in 2008. What would I do differently? I would do my personal direct mail campaign, with free reports offering on the web, talking about financing, trade-ins, whole-sale market, sales tips etc. I would then position myself as the only car sales person doing it in town. From there, I will get customer's mailing address and start sending post-cards and sales letters, again, using the internet to automate this sales process. I will also do video promos, me teaching in video how to finance a car etc. Then I would have a YouTube channel to cross promote the channel and my website where my prospects come to give me their email address. Oh I loved selling cars, meeting different people every day...
