Here are some of my suggested tips to get started with story-telling:

  1. Create complex and memorable characters
  2. Tell each of your stories in 3 acts
  3. Explain Why before What. (Start with dropping a character behind enemy lines or have a great chase scene, before you say what the story is about.)
  4. Tie your stories together into an ongoing series. (For a superb example, check out Suitemates by Kinaxis.)
