What Does a Social Media Agency Do?

Social media is not just a fanciful way for friends to stay in touch. Social platforms like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn have now become the newest way to market online businesses. A good social media agency can help put your home based business at the top of search engine results and attract more shoppers to your website.

Branding

One of the best ways to reinforce the brand of your business is through the many social avenues available online. A social media agency can assess the needs of your company, help you to define your objectives, and develop a marketing plan that includes various new media strategies. These could include customer polls, contests, games or interactive coupon hunts, for example. Consumers who "fan" your brand can earn special privileges such as discounts, free shipping and early sale announcements. As customers interact with your brand they begin to develop deep and long lasting feelings of trust and loyalty. Your most devoted customers will also share their preference for your company with their friends and fans, and they will keep shopping with your business for the long haul.

Social Selling

The current view of social selling is that it is somewhat of a digital ecosystem. Social commerce exists only where there is a healthy network of fans and friends that heartily support and promote the brand. These consumers will always convert better than casual customers. A social media agency knows how to energize the selling side of social platforms via customer engagement, social search optimization and/or various forms of paid advertising. Although merchants are not permitted to sell directly on every social channel, there are a few that cater specifically to online sales. Facebook Marketplace, for example, allows merchants to sell directly to shoppers while on Facebook. But the beauty of social commerce is not so much in having the ability to conduct product sales offsite. Rather, it is in engaging your fans, taking time to develop trust, and ultimately enticing them to visit your website.

Measured Results

Another advantage to hiring a social media agency is in the valuable reports and data mining they can provide. With the right software in place, each customer's social and shopping behaviors can be tracked down to a granular level. Social media agencies can often provide pinpoint accuracy in targeting consumers for specific social marketing promotions. Social media platforms have become a primary option in online marketing strategies. Facebook, Twitter and other social platforms are providing all the tools a website owner needs to get better search results and more loyal customers. A social media agency knows how to use those tools to get the Internet buzzing louder about your home based business.

I will tell you that the world is about 1 1/2 behind when it comes to understanding social media. Building a section now will put EvanCarmichael.com is a great position a year down the road when people realize Social Media can produce more traffic than SEO. Jeff

Re: UPDATES: New Campaign! New Layout! New Ideas! Re: UPDATES: New Campaign! New Layout! New Ideas! - GT - thanks for the FYI - I'm not sure if we'll put a link back. Something to consider though! Trent - the new category is "Social Network and Media" which was put in to compliment the Online Businesses category that currently exists. Overall the new categories are: - Looking For, Networking and Events - Review My... - Social Network and Media - Brags and Rants These came as a result of Ringo doing research on other forums and thinking about what could be improved on ours to give a better experience for everyone. I hope you enjoy them! David, I'm looking forward to reading your Brag / Rant!

Re: Social Media Marketing Ignorance Re: Social Media Marketing Ignorance - [quote="vbn411":7qciluxl]Social Media is space that you have to be in to succeed in our current climate. People are going to be discussing your brand / product whether you like it or not, so you might as well join the conversation and add value. [/quote:7qciluxl] I think that's probably one of the most realistic way to think about it. There's no real textbook way of understanding Social Media, it's the networks of people and their interactions that will exist with or without your input. As for Jennifer, You can always have 2 Facebook pages. Many people do. There is also LinkedIn, which is like a professional networking version of Facebook. The only way to know is to try it.
