Instant Gratification

Waiting is never good for business. If a sale is going to happen, the sooner the better.

Unfortunately, doing business on the internet often means waiting. If you have a new web site, Google will not put it on the radar screen until it’s been around for a while. Even after Google decides your site is not fly-by-night, you will need to wait before it moves up in the search rankings to someplace that surfers might actually find it.

If you were good at search engine optimization, you would need to wait six months to a year before your site got a noticeable ranking on Google. Can you wait that long?

Luckily, there’s an option that can get you onto the first page of search results today. Pay-per-click (PPC) advertisements appear along the top and right side of Google search results under a “Sponsored Links” heading. When you click on a PPC ad, even if you are just taking a look-see, the advertiser is charged a small fee. The good news is, if no one ever clicks on the ad, the advertiser pays nothing.

PPC ads mean no waiting to get your message in front of the people who matter – those who are looking for products and services like yours. Most PPC fees are small, less than a dollar, and you can put a limit or your ad spend, so you don’t have to worry about facing an unexpectedly high charge for your ad.

Regardless of how much you choose to spend, the most important part of your PPC campaign is the writing of your ads. PPC ads do not allow any design or graphics, so you have only words to get potential customers to click on your ad.

PPC advertising is increasingly more competitive and surfers will choose the ad that appeals most to them – based on the writing of the ad. It’s a lot of pressure for just a few words, but do it right and your ad will attract the most attention.
