The Constant Harvest

Think of your internet marketing as a fruit orchard. With the right care, feeding, fertilization and weeding, you’ll have a bountiful harvest, but, only when the time is right. After you pick the fruit, you still have to take care and handle it right for it to ripen. Then you can get the most from your fruit – and start looking forward to the next crop.

It’s just “food for thought” (pardon the pun), but the metaphor works. Your business needs to be set up to convert inquiries into qualified leads and to convert qualified leads into paying customers. Like nurturing seedlings into a crop, this is nurturing inquiries into sales. Your web site needs to be made into fertile ground for this to happen for you on the internet.

Just like the farmer plans his crop, taking into consideration what is in demand, costs, etc., your internet marketing needs to have clearly defined goals. You need to know your audience and where they are in their buying cycle. Then, every element of your internet marketing must help to persuade your customers to take the actions you want them to take.

On your web site, you need to get rd of the weeds, (distractions) and poor soil (bad links). Keep it fertilized with a constant supply of new, well-written and relevant content. Use measurement and analytics to trim and prune your site and marketing campaigns to keep your crop growing steadily.

From when they first arrive, everything a visitor does on your web site should be a step towards conversion. If you manage to get visitors to stay, and give them the confidence that they can find the answers they seek on your site, they will make the ultimate click and convert into a customer. Then its harvest time. Nurturing your online leads can produce amazing results

Re: What inspires you? Re: What inspires you? - Put a Visual Board of your dream and look at it for 10 days. And see the fun. Another inspiration thing is to have "Constant Positive Affirmations". This really shifts energy towards your goal. Say it in the morning and before bed. Robert
Re: What newsletter program to use? Re: What newsletter program to use? - I use Constant Contact for myself and Aweber for a client who needs the autoresponder features. Aweber is also great for integration with PayPal. However, I don't like designing using Aweber. I design using Expression Web 2, then copy paste the codes.
Re: Does Anyone have any New Ideas for a Business Re: Does Anyone have any New Ideas for a Business - An idea is only the beginning. The solution is the key here. I really like the term "turn key solution" and in fact use it as many times as I can in my life. Successful franchises and businesses know exactly what, who, how, where, when and why prior to ever dropping $1 in the bank account. This is what makes people millionaires. Harvest ideas into well oiled machines. A business needs to run itself and sustain itself. If you can show this on paper and show consistent growth in a real world scenario, you will always have a winner. Sounds easy, doesn't it? I'm still working on that myself. It's amazing how many difficult to answer questions come up. Persistence is then key.
Re: Hello from Nova Scotia, Canada Re: Hello from Nova Scotia, Canada - Hi everyone and thank you for the warm welcomes! GT - funny connection- I was born in Edmonton (Dad was in military, but my Mom is from Vermilion, Alberta) and I cannot believe you used to go in the harbour water!!! Carol, interesting site, I will have to check that out a bit more. I am working for a Canadian Internet marketer at present. I am certain I'll be connecting with you more as I explore this forum!
