ALIVE - 5 happiness factors

Folks are always looking for the secret to success, or the keys to happiness. As I have observed people over the years, I've noticed some commonalities between those having fun and those in a perpetually bad mood. I have come up with an easy way to remember the 5 happiness factors.

A - Action; Happy people are people of action. They take the bull by the horns and just get started. Instead of dwelling on the problem saying woe is me, they begin taking steps. Covey calls this being proactive. If you're going to have the problem anyway, you might as well take action, however small, to fix it.

L - Learn; Folks that are continually learning have a much broader view of the world. They also have more & better ideas because of the larger pool of knowledge. One of the easiest methods of learning is by listening when others talk. Listening & learning can sometimes be used interchangeably. I often tell young people, "always be learning".

I - Invite; You will be much happier when you invite people into your life. This provides more support for you when things go wrong. By continually building relationships, you will always be surrounded by people adding to your learning and general happiness. On this note, seek out people that will help you up instead of pulling you down.

V - Visit; Related to invite, visiting is proactive on your part. How can you expect others to help you, if you're unwilling to help another. When you feel down, a great way to lift the spirits is to visit another that needs a pick me up. Find a young person to mentor, or a collegue that could use a boost.

E - E is probably the most important of all 5. If you don't have E, get it. If you don't have E, buy it. Books have been written on E. Look for people that have it and hang out with them until you get E. E is for ENTHUSIASM. Happy people tend to be enthusiastic about something, their lives, their jobs, their families, or all of the above. Do you have a pessimistic person in your life? The Debbie Downer? How do you feel while in their company? Now think about the positive, enthusiastic people in you life. How do you feel when you get around them? Which of the two would your rather be around? Be Enthusiastic.

To me, in order to really be happy, you've got to be ALIVE, and you've got to make it your purpose.

Poll: How many search results do you analyze of competitors Poll: How many search results do you analyze of competitors - If you are trying to emulate your competition or let's say a competitor who is in the top search results you may examine certain factors in the SERPs such as keyword usage in the Title Tag, on page factors like keyword density, keyword prominence or keyword proximity in the body text, plus other on page factors. I know quite a few students of SEO like to do this as a way to improve their own search visibility. Here is this Poll question. If you were to examine competitors within the top results, how far down the list of SERPS would you care to explore for various factors?
Re: The secret to happiness Re: The secret to happiness - The way I look at it, success will bring happiness, as long as that success was ethical. I think studies will continue to show how happiness really is an inside job. For me, it's all about making the decision to accept yourself and your life situation, and making the best out of it. That's a tall order for some people, and it's challenging at times, but well, well worth it.
Re: The secret to happiness Re: The secret to happiness - [quote="barrysarner":2awy1urv]I agree and happiness is different for every individual.[/quote:2awy1urv] Happiness is something that comes from within each person it not something that we can find externally. Something from outside such as an exciting event or a new car can make us happy, but this is a fleeting emotion. True happiness is within each person if we choose to it over misery. MichelleJ

Re: Website Ranking Optimization Re: Website Ranking Optimization - You are right SEO is a combination of many factors. This is because the Google algorithm considers 100s of ranking factors. SEO can be learnt with plenty of research and over time if you continue optimising you will get results. As with anything do-it-yourself it can take longer. A professional will have the experience to know how to show results fastest, which is essentially if you want to make money quicker.
