A Life Insurance Success Story

I just read a wonderful book called "How to Succeed Selling Life Insurance in spite of being a nice person".

It's an easy read. I finished it in an evening.

The book begins with Athena Ghion's own story about the trouble she had learning the ropes from a manager who wanted her to just peddle policies. His sales methods made her uncomfortable, and she doubted their ethics.

To counter this negative background she developed her own methods of presenting, selling, and following up on cases. She also switched to another general agency.
Her income skyrocketed! She made $105,193.25 in 2001 from just one insurer. Add in her earnings on policies placed through other companies, and Athena made 10 times more commissions in that year than in her previous years!

Besides a more positive environment, and outlook, the secret of her success is the manner in which she explains the benefits of permanent policies (Universal and Whole Life) to prospects. And the author gives you full details of how she does this, so you can do it the same way. This explanation alone is worth the price of the book.

Her techniques are readily transferable to both new recruits, and experienced life underwriters, so if your sales need a boost, this book could be the way to get it.
If you want to sell life insurance properly and feel good about what you're doing buy this book.

It is comprehensive, fresh, subtle, profound, inspiring, and educational. And the author's style of writing adds to its pleasure.

She feels your relationship with the client is primary, the sale is secondary, so if you have a different standard, look elsewhere.

Much of the pleasure in reading this book comes from knowing that it is from "the horse's mouth", written by a lady, who suffered the dark side of our business, and rose above it.

Now, instead of keeping it to herself, Athena shares what she learned, and taught herself, in "How to Succeed Selling Life Insurance in spite of being a nice person".

What a great present to give yourself!

Re: Insurance for Home Based Business? Re: Insurance for Home Based Business? - hi there I'm a newbie here.I can get good information regarding the Insurance for Home based business and more. It's really safe to have Insurance for a home based business. Thanks a lot for discussing some important issues here and i feel really happy to be a part of this.
Favorite Christmas Movie Favorite Christmas Movie - Hands down- for me it's the original (black & white) version of "Miricle on 34th Street" and I have seen the colorized version, but still prefer to watch the B & W version. Coming in second is "A Christmas Story" which is set in the 1940's where the little boy wants nothing more than a BB gun for Christmas. And last, I would say it's a wonderful Life (with Jimmy Stewart).
The Second Life Platform The Second Life Platform - Greetings! I'm not sure how many of you have heard of or are sensitive to Second Life and its related entities. However, Second Life is a fantastic platform to mimmick real life business operations in a real currency based economy. There are plenty of successful stories for creative individuals, but I'd highly suggest doing your research and appreciating Second Life for what it is, and what it isn't.

Re: Charge what you're worth Re: Charge what you're worth - [quote="Tami Szabo":292ze3jd]People will pay you what you ask. Very few will ever up the price. You are the one who decided what you are worth. The key is that we believe our services are worth the price we are asking.[/quote:292ze3jd] Hi Tami, You're absolutely right. In "Think and Grow Rich", Jessie B. Rittenhouse says "For Life is a just employer, He gives you what you ask, But once you have set the wages, Why, you must bear the task. I worked for a menial's hire Only to learn, dismayed , That any wage I had asked of Life, Life would have willingly paid" (Napoleon Hill 35). I think the same can be said when setting prices on eBay or Craigslist, especially when people are trying to haggle you.
