Apply these 9 proven time-saving tips, as these little gems can be some of your most effective money-makers.
1. Do your least favorite daily activities first! And get them out of your way fast so you can get to stuff you like.
2. Organize your work space. Do you waste time looking for a file, a disk, or anything else you misplaced? Keep your work area organized to save time.
3. Write out a daily "To-Do" list. You'll get side-tracked less often by knowing exactly what you need to do. This will help you to stay focused on the important things.
4. Create a monthly or weekly "To-Do" list. There are a lot of activities that can't be accomplished in a day, no matter how much we'd like them to be. Put these on your weekly or monthly "To-Do" list so that you won't forget about them.
5. Get an efficient email program. You probably get more email each day than you can keep up with. An email program such as Eudora, can auto-filter it into specific folders. Get it at www.eudora.com
6. Let colleagues (and family when you're working at home) know exactly when you're working to reduce time-wasting interruptions, and also improve your productivity. Often a simple "Working! Do NOT Disturb" sign on your door will work wonders. Believe me, I've tried it.
7. Keep HEALTHY snacks, drinks, and other tidbits in your work area. If you keep a few snacks (fruits, juices, etc) handy you'll lose less time leaving your desk to satisfy hunger pangs.
8. Pencil yourself into YOUR schedule! Some advisors can spend 12 hours straight at the office, which is unhealthy both mentally AND physically. You're much more productive and fresh when you've rested a while. So take some time out for yourself.
9. Don't become so "business-minded" that you forget how to have fun in your business. Jokes and quotes in ezines (such as TIP) are usually short and sweet, and give you something to get into a more light-hearted mood.
