Keeping Contacts Current

In the past week I received emails from two TIP subscribers asking me to update my contact information.
The first was from Bob Challis, and thinking “What a good idea for keeping client data up to date”, I emailed him for more information. Here's what he said:
“The AccuCard service costs U$39.95/yr or U$69/2yr. It takes EVERY e-address in my Outlook contact list, cross-references them with other AccuCard subscribers, and requests all non- subscribers to reply with updated info.
“Then the service compiles a listing of updates and sends it to me. I have a choice of whether & what & who, to update in my own database!
“Then it completes the process automatically. The contacts viewer of Outlook displays icons from then on that enable me to recognize who has been updated and when.
“This service saves us hours and hours of management time. The first time I used it, my contacts database generated over 250 replies, every one of which provided me with additional current contact info to replace my 'stale' stuff.
“I recommend it to any email user. It's a VERY valuable, and user-friendly service.
Then today I received a similar request from Mike Thorne, who noted that the service he uses, Plaxo, is free! So, I downloaded it, and used it to contact all TIP subscribers.
This gives both you, and me a chance to see how it works. If you like what you see, you too, can download and use it.

Re: What to do at the first roadblock? Re: What to do at the first roadblock? - GT said, I think seeing that the glass (i.e. market or opportunity) is only half full is a good mindset to have rather than looking at the sheer number of competitors. I would have to agree. I think this is a great thing to think about in almost any situation, whether home or business. As I mentioned, attitude is 95% of the battle. Keeping it positive is the only way to get the things you really want in life. Helping others helps, too. See the quote in my signature.
