Groupon or Coupon in your Small Online Business - 3 Important Questions to Ask

It is interesting to see all the sites and companies that are offering coupons online, but how can you use it to your advantage? How can you even make a small business out of creating something similar? Here is a little suggestion that may give you a new business idea. Groupon is an interesting site with deals that you can join in on. It may be helpful to be a convenient place for items at a discount. To sign up you need your email, age and postal code and then can search for deals by city. You can share it with friends or use your mobile to tell others.

Coupons is an interesting site for coupons and is geared to more grocery, personal care and smaller ticket items. Here you can print coupons out and save yourself money on items.

So what do these websites have in common, how can you develop an online business?

Well imagine this, both of these sites have a use to give people a better price based on common interest of an item or create volume sales of an item. However, sometimes too much is possible overboard, as seen on TV, who needs 200 chocolate bars because they have 2 for 1 coupons.

Other companies such as restaurants like Subway and Boston Pizza have put coupons online are offering surveys in exchange for free items.

What you can learn from this is that the online business is using a specified promotion for ia specific item to drive traffic and volume sales. If you are more introspective and have an online business or maybe even have an iPad and blackberry maybe you want to think of how you can use this technology in your online business.

Ask yourself these questions?

1. What is the item I want to promote, how does it promote my online business image? (Important to think about because people will have different impressions.)

2. Can I use a poll on Facebook, Twitter or another online tool to see how people will respond? (Just because it works in your business it might not work in your online business.)

3. What item is unique to our business that will stand out? (There are so many businesses and many may have the same item, how is yours different?)

These are just 3 important questions you should think about if you want to use this type of promotion or technology to develop your online business. That is how you can develop more with less. There are numerous items you need to this about in regards to SEO, promotion and technology but this should be a good start.
