Here are a few organizations that will assist Toronto business women with new and current entrepreneurial endeavors: North Toronto Business & Professional Women's Club (bpwnorthtoronto.com) – Founded in 1948, North Toronto BPW meets the first Wednesday of every month for a dinner meeting from September to June to discuss topics that relate to Toronto business women. In addition to friendship and the opportunity to network, the organization promotes advocacy and awareness and offers professional leadership, development and career advancement. Membership fees are $125 per year with each dinner costing approximately $22 per month. Enterprise Toronto (enterprisetoronto.com) – Enterprise Toronto is a resource website for entrepreneurs. Whether you are starting out or a current entrepreneur, Enterprise Toronto offers free seminars, articles and resources. For Toronto business women, Enterprise Toronto offers a special section of resources as well as special seminars such as Powerful Vision: Creating a Roadmap to Success, which is part of the women's seminar series. Other resources include: articles and guides, associations, checklists, government assistance programs, news, research/trends/statistics, training programs, success stories and web links. Membership is free. Women Can Do Anything (womencandoanything.com) – WCDA is an online community for entrepreneurs. Toronto business women can log in free of charge and get inspired by stories of up and coming women. The mission is to “provide women with inspiration, knowledge and support to follow their dreams in businesses and life”. In addition they offer low cost advertising options for businesses, access to consultants, authors and speakers and much more. Organization of Women in International Trade – Toronto (owit-toronto.ca) – OWIT is a non-profit organization that promotes women's participation in International Trade. There are many networking and education opportunities associated with this organization. With over 5000 members and 29 chapters worldwide, Toronto business women will have a vast wealth of resources and contacts opened up to them with membership. OWIT holds workshops and educational seminars and offers ongoing practical trade tips. Members included women exporters and importers, service providers and government workers that work in the trade sector. Membership is $125 per year or discounted for a corporate group. Association of Women Executives & Entrepreneurs – CAWEE (cawee.net) – Another great organization for Toronto business women is CAWEE which is a networking and social alliance. They offer a monthly breakfast club with guest speakers as well as general meetings which allow for networking and learning opportunities. Memberships range from $159-$265.
