Springer: Bad things happen when Santa stays away SACRAMENTO, Calif. Keith Springer appears live on MarketWatch radio to discuss why bad things happen when Santa stays away.
Investors had better hope they're on Santa's "nice" list. Sacramento's Springer Financial Advisors president Keith Springer tells MarketWatch Radio's Larry Kofsky that "bad things" happen when Old Saint Nick doesn't come to Wall Street, in the morning stock talk.
"Volatility is not going to go away, it is here for a while," comments financial advisor Keith Springer, who is author of Facing Goliath: How to Triumph in the Dangerous Market Ahead and radio host of Smart Money with Keith Springer every Sunday at 4pm on Talk 650 KSTE. "The market wants a QE3, and without it we are going to continue to see a slog-through-the-mud economy."
"Individual investors are not very confident in the market," Springer continues. "There isn't a lot of confidence because there really isn't anything kicking in. We have to cut through that deleveraging process, which unfortunately is going to take a couple years."
In the next year Springer says, "It would be good if we could have a flat stock market; a little up and a little down. There is just nothing overly positive in the market."
"There are plenty of places to make money in this market," continues Springer. "We have been focusing on income dividends for our clients and corporate bonds. When the market is flat you can still make 7-10 %. Therefore, we are not big on growth stocks, it's like gambling. Invest for need not for greed. Basically get the return that you need with the least amount of risk possible."
