Boat loans, what you need to know.

Financing a boat can sometimes be a struggle depending on your credit history. This is because items like Jetski's house boats and fishing boats are seen as luxury items. Too ensure you get the best service you should contact a boat finance broker who is accredited with most boat finance lenders.

Your credit history will play a major part as to whether or not you receive an approval, so we recommend that before you apply for finance its best to check your credit file for bad credit. You can apply for a credit report online, or in turn you can ask your boat finance broker.

Before you place an application in, ensure that all of your other outstanding loans are up to date or paid in advance. It won't look good on the application if you're applying for money and already falling behind on your other payments.

Looking around will save you money in the long run, try not to rush into grabbing the first deal you see. We say this because different lenders may offer you a rate from anywhere between 8.25% and 26%, over a period of 5 years this may save you thousands of dollars. Most good boat loan brokers will have accreditations with the major lenders and will already do this for you.

House boats can be a difficult task; most of the major banks won't approve the contract if the owner intends to live on the house boat.

Most boat loan terms reach a maximum of five (5) years. You may be able to get an approval if you have a down payment which will decrease your monthly or fortnightly repayments. If you're buying a second hand boat then you should know that most banks won't offer you the five (5) year term if the boat is older than seven (7) years old. They will however offer you a shorter term with higher monthly repayments.

Re: Has anyone used the SBA's Micro Loan program? Re: Has anyone used the SBA's Micro Loan program? - Although I have not obtained any loans from the SBA, my cousin (an inventor) has. She says they worked with her to see what grants/loans would be applicable to her. She lives in Nashville. She said it was easier to qualify than with a bank. But, I must add that my cousin is very persistent and will definately presses on until she gets what she needs.
loans loans - Hi David- Those type of loans generally carry very short terms and have much higher interest rates...These days, with banks so tight (and believe me they all raised their requirements) minmum credit required is typically 680 for those type of loans...probably not worth it if you need to borrow more than 35K
Look For Investors Look For Investors - I would certainly look for loan and investor possibilities before bringing on a partner -- unless a partner brings something in addition to money to the business. There have been numerous posts on the board about a wide variety of financial options. There are bank loans, equity loans, small business loans, small business administration, angel investors and many other options. It is also key to have a qualified person draw up a contract for any agreement. If another person has the contract drawn up, make sure that you have a qualified person review it to look out for your interest. This is important whether you are dealing with friends, family or strangers and it will protect each person involved in the agreement. Chris

Re: How to Get Your Business Funded Re: How to Get Your Business Funded - [quote="David Castro":27uui5rn] Not always, unsecured business loans (cash advances) are a great option for small business owners. no personal guarantees needed.[/quote:27uui5rn] I know it's difficult to get finances but form my point of view, loans are too risky. I know it's an easy and fast way to get money, but you must think many times before taking any decision.
