Correlation between self discipline and productivity

“Self-discipline is the assertion of willpower over more base desires, and is usually understood to be a synonym of 'self control'. Self-discipline is to some extent a substitute for motivation, when one uses reason to determine a best course of action that opposes one's desires.”

In the context of business and management concepts there are a lot of associations for “self discipline”. Associations are the first things that appear in our mind when we think of an object or term and their purpose is to create the right image of the object.
Here comes why thinking of “self discipline” is also thinking about time management, emotional control, acceptance, willpower, hard work and persistence.

Importance of emotional control in business is about being able to control and never let your self manipulated by the negative feelings. For instance, influencing others towards a goal you will never succeed if they can read on you fear and insecurity. Instead, what you need is patience and persistence. Take a clear view on the situation, perceive reality accurately and consciously and than create a plan of attack. Creating and executing that plan with all the objectives, resumes on taking a decision and following it with perseverance until it’s successfully accomplished. And that is willpower. But having a project made in time needs among all, hard work.

As you have read above all this characteristics are correlated and helps yourself in becoming productive and disciplined in every action you take. But the great support that self discipline is giving to you is in helping to manage your qualities.

Re: Do Women Play the Stock Market? Re: Do Women Play the Stock Market? - Getting others to follow the strategy consistently definitely includes discipline. For me, it took continual practice to develop the discipline to the point that it is second nature for me to follow the system. It works, and I liked getting greating results, so that helped keep me disciplined. When I didn't follow the system, I would lose money on an investment. That was enough to remind myself to stick with the systematic approach. Also, the approach I use is a simple approach versus some of the more complex systems I have seen out there. I figure why complicate things if I can keep it simple and still be profitable. My goal isn't to be an egghead; it's to continue making money in the market. Regardless of whether the market is up or down, I am still profitable.

I know that every time I am reminded of them I set out with all good intentions but never seem able to maintain it. That I suppose is where the discipline part comes in to play.
