How to Use 360 Assessment Tools

How to Use 360 Assessment Tools

360 assessment tools are tools which are used to provide feedback to employees from their peers, their boss, their subordinates and themselves. This is utilized to help them improve their performance as well as to help recognize their accomplishment. They are basically rated in a number of different areas which could include productivity, efficiency, etc. Most leaders who choose to use assessment tools like this also choose to utilize ways to help their employees deal with their feedback. For instance, resources to help them learn more about a particular area if they have done poorly, or rewards for those employees who have done very well.

Tools like this accomplish several different things. First and foremost, they inspire the employees to do a better job so that they will receive a great feedback. This is especially true if they receive some sort of bonus or award for a great feedback rating. When employees are inspired to do a better job, they are not only more efficient but they increase productivity. If just one employee increases productivity by 2%, imagine if a company with 30 employees has each one of them increase productivity! That is a huge increase and can definitely affect the company's sales and profits.

Another thing they accomplish is weeding out excellent employees from not so great ones. This allows the poorer performing employees to see where they are lagging behind and offering help to allow them to improve themselves can really make a large difference. However, should they continue to perform poorly, you know which employees need to be replaced and which ones you should work harder to retain. 360 assessment tools are a very valuable part of a great company and helps companies to thrive and grow, as well as become more efficient, increase productivity and inspire happier, harder working employees.

When you use 360 assessment tools, you provide the great worker with appreciation for what he or she is doing within your company. This is motivation to keep doing a great job, do a better job and be proud of the work that they are doing. This is essential to keep morale within a company high! You also give the struggling employee the chance to improve his or her skills in the areas that they are having trouble with. Overall, they are a great tool for any company that wants to increase their force within any niche.
