Article Overview: Companies who take advantage of organizational development understand that they are working not for the present moment, but that over a period of time. Organizational Development

Whether you own a product or service oriented business, you must take your time and strategically organize and develop your organization. This is called “Organizational development” and is the process through which an organization develops the internal capacity to most efficiently and effectively provide its mission work and to sustain itself over the long term. The beauty of this process is that it is not short term. Instead, it is a long term effort that can inevitably improve your organization's problem solving and renewal processes. You can do this by teaching your employees and staff how to become more effective and collaborative in their objectives.

For instance, let’s say that you are a marketing company and you are responsible for the marketing of a new product. Instead of the marketing consultants working alone, you might choose to have them collaborate with the actual product developers so that hey can form a strategic and powerful workgroup. Together this formal workgroup will not only mange the implementation of the marketing strategy but they will combine both technical and creative talents to cultivate and emphasize the product benefits which will lead to ultimate marketing success.

Companies who take advantage of organizational development understand that they are working not for the present moment, but that over a period of time. By combining one or more employees within a group and having them work on the outcome of a specific area, they can better the company and learn how to withstand time and change within the industry.

Profits and productivity will be up and your company can thrive and flourish. The very basic concept of organizational development is having an organization, or a group of people working to achieve certain goals, get projects completed, etc. Working together in this way makes the business more effective at succeeding, accomplishing tasks and projects together and achieving goals. While this is not a quick improvement, some benefits may be seen right away. This is a long term effort to create a different and lasting success for the company through the skills of the employees who are working together. As they improve their problem solving and development skills, the company improves and benefits from the actions of the team.

Teamwork plays a very important role in organizational development and can help to make a company great or simply leave it at mediocre. In conclusion, organizational development is a beneficial process that raises the worth and success of a company or business in the present time, but more specifically over a longer period of time. It is fast becoming more important to businesses all over the world as the benefits are seen and desired.

Re: what position to request? Re: what position to request? - Hi Michael, Great suggestion from David, or you could try something around a design consultancy, How about Website Design Consultant, Design and Development Manager, Website Support and Development Manager or maybe Internet Business Development Consultant. Ultimately whatever you are comfortable with and good luck for the future, Mal.
BDC BDC - [quote="IWDCanada":jib6tqt9]I think if you try to do business in the Maritimes the Business Development Bank of Canada might be able to provide grants.[/quote:jib6tqt9] On that note, does anybody have any experiences with the Business Development Bank of Canada that they would like to share? I have been considering approaching them for a business loan.

From what i've been told they are really great when it comes to small business. Their loans have a little higher interest but their payment terms are a lot easier to swallow. I can give you a contact if you need.
Re: what position to request? Re: what position to request? - Business Development Manager - is more or less ok... thank you. but I want something fancier... an executive position..
