Performance Consulting

Performance consulting is consulting with a direct impact. It is consulting that is typically divided into three sub-specialties including organizational development specialists, professional development specialists and personal coaches. These three different types of specialists work within different areas of the company in order to create more knowledgeable, well rounded leaders, employees and staff. As each person within the organization improves and learns, the organization is made stronger as a whole.
Organizational development specialists help organizations improve the effectiveness of their staff by changing the psychodynamics of the organization. This works for the company as a whole, to improve it as well as create a lasting and well rounded organization. Professional development specialists help organizations improve the effectiveness of their staff by providing technical and professional training. As each staff member is trained and becomes more knowledgeable and skilled, the benefits to the company are very large and important. In fact, a company which does not take advantage in this kind of training for their staff and employees risks getting left behind in their particular niche. Personal coaches help individuals be more effective in the personal or workplace lives. As the personal life is improved, the workplace life will be improved as well and vice versa. Although some don't understand the need for an employer to provide personal coaching as far as personal lives and home lives go, the importance lies in the fact that the happiness and success of one area of life will directly affect the productivity and success in every other area of life. It is also not a matter of the individual because each person can benefit from personal coaching for personal lives or workplace lives.

When performance consulting is used to improve the quality of an organization's management team or to nurture the development of up and coming leaders, it becomes a specialized form of management consulting. Many managers then choose to utilize an integrated approach or cleverly combine professional training, personal coaching, and team building into one. The result is a sub-specialty of organizational development, one that nurtures and encourages leaders to further develop their leadership skills. As these leadership skills are further developed, the benefits to the company are outstanding. Having exceptional leaders who can effectively manage and lead the employees is a must in today's business world. This has been proven time and time again to increase productivity, morale and create more success and bigger profits for the company who takes advantage of it. In conclusion, performance consulting may mean the difference between a successful, functional company and one that is failing and falling behind.

ARTICLE: Performance coaching in the workplace ARTICLE: Performance coaching in the workplace - To create lasting performance change it is necessary to first understand the positive and negative influence that a person’s personal behaviors has on their execution and what impact these have on their ability to achieve success. Only when we fully understand a person’s behavioral patterns and create positive self-managing coaching strategies can we assist a person to create lasting performance change. The vast majority of employers believe coaching can deliver significant benefits to both individuals and organizations. The majority of employers plan to increase the use of coaching over the next few years, according to a new survey by the Institute of Personnel and Development. Nearly nine out of ten interviewed companies expect their managers and supervisors to deliver performance coaching as part of their day-to-day work. In another large industry-wide study it was found that most managers reported that they were confident in their ability to coach. However, the study also showed that the managers’ actual skills levels as coaches were typically poor. As a consequence they were not nearly as effective in their coaching as they believe themselves to be. Often times, they believed that coaching consisted of just providing 1-to-1 instructional feedback to their staff members on what to do in a given situation to perform better. Many recent studies have shown that technical skills only represent at best 20% of the contribution into our performance. The remaining 80% comes from our ability to choose or make a decision, assertiveness, commitment to grow, ability to concentrate, honesty, optimism, persistence, ability to perform well under stress and so on. These traits are commonly called our soft skills or attitude. Few managers understand just how deeply rooted their own behavior patterns are, let alone how to positively change them in other people. Performance coaching is frequently confused with other types of coaching, such as Executive coaching and Life coaching. Performance coaching is a form of Directive coaching. Executive coaching and Life coaching are both forms of Non-directive coaching. Directive coaching is usually more suitable for a manager who sometimes acts as a coach. Performance coaching in the workplace has developed immensely from what it was only 4 years ago. To choose the right coach will make a huge difference. You also better make sure to know what you want. If your coach knows what (s)he is doing – you will get on your way to get it! [i:38tu5pgr]- Peter J Karlsson[/i:38tu5pgr]
Re: Looking for partners to start career consulting business Re: Looking for partners to start career consulting business - Consulting business is a billion dollar industry. I suggest looking for partners and potential clients on online business portals like servana, which do not charge any basic fee. Get connected with potential partners, clients and customers from all around the world. My signature could help you in your research.
The Little Man Introduction The Little Man Introduction - Good Morning, This is John Hoover from Little Man Consulting. Our company has been floating along as a after thought for a few years. This year we decided to make a go of it. So far we are doing great. We are Virtual Administrators, Web Developers, Database Designers, and Software instructors. Basically, if you have someone in your office to do it, we can do it virtually. Our company was created to "Provide Big Business Resources to the Small Business". Wish me luck, I plan on revolutionizing the small business world with this!
employees or 1099? employees or 1099? - In my line of work, we are trying to keep our costs down and stay as "virtual" as possible. I was wondering if anyone had some insight as to whether I should hire employees or contractors? My apologies, here is a description of the situation so you might actually be able to answer my question. Little Man Consulting has a policy to NOT meet with clients unless they are truly against the completely virtual environment. As my company has quadropled in size this year alone, I am finding it harder and harder to keep up with the work and still grow the business. There are other Virtual Assistants out there. Should I farm out the work, or bring in employees?
Customs Customs - Great point about checking with customs to find out what fees are involved. Any fees, shipping, taxes, local business license, and other budgetary concerns should be thoroughly researched before setting up a business or making a formal agreement. Consulting with an attorney before working with someone from another country is also a wonderful and necessary step. The person you are talking with may be fine and reputable, but there are a lot of people online that scam people every day. It never hurts to research things thoroughly. I've also found that when people object to letting me check them out - there's a reason they don't want me to learn more. Shri
