The Powerful Minute - "Humility"

This week I'm really suggesting that we look in the mirror with a little less seriousness than I might normally do. I'm a big believer in being 100% responsible for where we are in life. But I also don't want us to forget that life is fun. It's full of twists. But if we can take ourselves a little less serious from time-to-time, it won't hurt. Humor - Here's a true story - last week we moved our website from one server to another. How hard can it be? You just move the whole thing over, right? Yes, that's right and from then on, small, relentless, never-ending changes - broken links, email reconfigurations, products not functioning properly. Man, it was a lot of fun! Well, not really. But, here's the thing. We knew it was not going to be a seamless transition. We knew we'd find things we hadn't thought of. We knew we would have to re-do and re-do again some things.

So was it frustrating? At times, yes. Sometimes a lot. But all in all, I just kept asking myself to see it as humorous. What's the moral of the story? Don't take things too seriously? Especially yourself. In the scheme of things it's just not that big of a deal.

So this week - laugh a little - at yourself. You might be surprised just how good you feel about acknowledging your own humanness.

Have a great week!

Re: Do Articles For Businesswomen need to be written differently Re: Do Articles For Businesswomen need to be written differently - One of the best books ever written to illustrate this point beautifully, half the book is written in a story style and then the same thing is written again in more of a text book style. The book is The One Minute Millionaire by Mark Victor Hansen and Robert G. Allen. Quite different and I am sure that each half appeals to different people in different ways. MichelleJ
Marketing vs Web Optimizers vs Usability Marketing vs Web Optimizers vs Usability - Hi BigJim22, I must be honest - I haven't really read a lot of Seth's articles on web site strategies. What I have found though is that there always seems to be a three way conflict between marketing ideas, SEO strategies and usability issues when doing web development. The secret is to balance between the ideal situation for each of these. Since a website needs to be found, visited and acted upon we need a strong combination of marketing, SEO and usability to be successful. It's something we struggle with constantly at Last Minute Training and I'm sad to say - we still haven't found the right combination.
Re: Book Review - The Freedom Formula Re: Book Review - The Freedom Formula - Hi Shri, Thanks for your input. I have read a bit of the book. Now I say something which many may know, true freedom comes from the true source of Freedom. We read this in Luke 4v17-18. ......has sent me to proclaim freedom for the....proclaim of the Lord's favor. Later it reads, the people were amazed. She mentions God, but what about his son Jesus, who died and rose again. Jesus. Powerful. More and more people asking questions, why are we here and what is the purpose for our life. All the answers are in the Bible, which stands for Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth. A very successful guy in the US is Joel Osteen from Houston Texas, with over 40'000 people meeting every week. He has written a book: "Your Best Life Now" Well worth reading, too. Regards Beat

It is so amazing that the first book to be published on earth could not be believed by many. I know all the answers to life are in the bible and I am glad that I am one of the believers in the word of God
