Time Management And The Secret To Getting Stuff Done

When you look around your office do you see evidence of incomplete commitments, projects, tasks and ‘I’ll deal with that later’ piles?

Do you wonder how on earth you are EVER going to get it all done?

If you answered yes, you are not alone. We live and work in a time where we all have more to do than we have time to do it in. That’s why it’s more critical today then ever before to find easy ways to stay on top of our workloads.

Now, let me ask you this: are you as tired as I am about hearing from the ‘experts’ on how to get this stuff done? You know … write down your goals, prioritize them, set dates and schedule them in your planner, yada yada blahdey blah.

Are you thinking what I’m thinking?

Booooooooooorrrrrrrrrriiiiing!

What they say is great advice.

What?

I know. It sounds like I’m contradicting myself.

There’s no denying that we wouldn’t ALL benefit from following those practices. For some though, this is the stopping point in the whole process.

It may just be too complicated and structured for some of you … right now.

Want to know my secret to getting stuff done?

I set time-limits and I limit the amount of stuff I can do.

Yup, it's that easy.

Before you blow his idea off, think about it for a moment.

If you knew you had a set amount of time to work on something, how likely is it that you’d get down to the crux of the work and eliminate all the other superfluous stuff?

Just think back to those times you procrastinated on something and then ran out of time. How quickly did you work to get it done?

And if you limited the amount of commitments and stuff to do, wouldn’t your workload get a bit lighter? Thereby giving you more time to work on the REALLY important stuff.

Hmmmmm … I think so.

Time management doesn’t need to be a complicated, step-by-step process. It can be as easy as setting time limits and limiting how much you can do.

It's time to GET REAL!!!

You are not Superhuman – you cannot get it all done at the pace you’re currently working at. And an endless amount of ‘time’ is NOT going to suddenly drop down into your life.

You NEED to start doing something – anything – to get that stuff done quickly.

So, what can you limit today?

Do it.

Now, get on with your day!

These helped me in learning the art of the trade and today when I look back, I feel that these mistakes were quite silly. Victoria's Secret - Too Sexy? Victoria's Secret - Too Sexy? - This will be upsetting for some men. I just heard a report about Victoria's Secret and it was interesting. Their sales were down drastically in the 4th quarter of 2007 and the report was about how they are thinking the company has gotten too far away from the heritage that made it the blockbuster company it is. They are thinking the ads etc have become too sexy and the plan (at the moment) is to make the ads more sophisticated. That would be like the Super Bowl commercial which was very tasteful, but very different from any Victoria's Secret I've seen lately. Who do you all think the current sexy ads are targeting? I think its the men that they hope will buy these items for their female significant others. I hate to give Omarosa any kudos - but most women aren't "sold" on an item by an ad of a near naked sexy woman. Shri
