High-Tech Solution for Migraines: Brain Training Offers Lasting Relief with Few Side Effects.

With 28 million Americans currently dealing with the pain of migraine headaches, many are looking for new, innovative and safer ways to find relief, without the side effects of many medications offered to treat the disorder. A new study published in the January issue of Headache, over 1100 migraine sufferers were questioned about the medications they took. A full two-thirds reported delaying or avoiding taking the pills due to treatment side-effects, including fatigue, nausea, racing heartbeat and difficulty thinking.

"If you measure the common symptoms for migraines; insomnia, nausea and sever pain to the side-effects of conventional treatment, for most patients it's a damned-if-do, damned-if-you don't scenario". Says David A. Mayen, director of the Sleep Recovery Centers in Manhattan Beach, Ca. "Their doctors mean well, but other than prescribing these medications, they just don't know what else to do".

So what's the solution?

As futuristic as it may sound, the human brain can actually be retrained with computer technology to greatly reduce the pain and suffering of migraines at their source; in the brain itself. Scientists have known for decades that there's a direct link between misaligned brainwaves and debilitating conditions such as headaches, anxiety disorders and poor sleep. "It's simply a matter of training the brain to balance and normalize its own brainwave function" says Mayen.

Two sensors are placed on the scalp, very much like sensitive microphones that listen in on the faint electrical signals on both left and right brain hemispheres. This data is then analyzed by the NeruOptimalTM software and suggested adjustments are fed back to the brain in the form of little skips and scratches embedded in headphone music. The clients' brain recognizes very quickly that normalization is indeed happening, and naturally wants to do more. It also appears unnecessary to wait to do the training while in pain with an actual migraine. Over time and with a number of sessions, the beneficial effects seem to carry over with each client, providing relief from the next migraine cycle.

A recent NeurOptimal TM survey conducted over eight years and 1.2 million session hours alleges an improvement rate of 87.2% for migraines and headaches, 83.3% for restored sleep, and 84.4% for anxiety/panic attacks. All of which have a history of contributing to long term health issues.

Results for reduced migraines can be seen in as little as six sessions. And, by the way, before you pass this off as new-age nonsense; be aware there's a whole department at UCLA devoted to this training technology. Brainwave training has been around for nearly 40 years now. It just hasn't gotten as much press attention as mainstream pharmaceuticals.....go figure!

"At Sleep Recovery Centers, we are more focused on producing results and empathetic client care, as opposed to herding as many people through the practice as possible. New clients are listened to and treated with dignity. Their exhausted, irritable and downright fed up with the lack of choices previously offered." says David Mayen. "The training works well with most people, but not everyone. If their case proves to be more complicated, we refer them to a professional better suited to help. No one ever gets left behind".

Training sessions are performed during the day or early evening, last about 40 minutes and usually carry little to no side effects. Occasionally there is some mild agitation in the beginning stages of training, but usually dissipates within the first three sessions. Mayen seems to think this is just the brain's way of making sense of the training. Of the trainees interviewed for this article, all are reporting a significant reduction in the intensity and duration of their migraines; to not having any headaches at all, six months or more after finishing the program.

Re: Did you reach your goal this year? Re: Did you reach your goal this year? - I finally realized the subconcious mind achieves LARGE goals just as easily as small goals. All the RIGHT people are now showing up to manifest my BIG GOALS now. It's been interesting and worth sharing. [Side Note: Be prepared for them when they come. Some ppl think it's too good to be true.] Take it anyway....
Budget. Budget. - I believe the biggest barrier is related to budget. Training tends to be a normal practice for a big company. But I have to consider it seriously as an entrepreneur.
Re: Men don't wear ties (necktie: US) like before! Re: Men don't wear ties (necktie: US) like before! - Time and place. Some places of business really do require a tie. Depending on your business, you're often dressing for your client's comfort more than your own. When I meet with clients at a big corporate office downtown, I of course wear a suit. But when I meet clients in less formal settings, such as a restaurant in The East Village or Lower East Side (and I know my client is going to be wearing jeans), then I wear a stylish outfit that matches my environment, but is just slightly dressier than my surroundings. So I really dress for the setting I'll be in and also for my clients comfort. I noticed that when I started to wear dressier clothing, my clients actually matched me and upped the level of their own dress which I found interesting.
Marketing vs Web Optimizers vs Usability Marketing vs Web Optimizers vs Usability - Hi BigJim22, I must be honest - I haven't really read a lot of Seth's articles on web site strategies. What I have found though is that there always seems to be a three way conflict between marketing ideas, SEO strategies and usability issues when doing web development. The secret is to balance between the ideal situation for each of these. Since a website needs to be found, visited and acted upon we need a strong combination of marketing, SEO and usability to be successful. It's something we struggle with constantly at Last Minute Training and I'm sad to say - we still haven't found the right combination.
