LinkedIn Facebook Twitter for Entrepreneurs

Like it or not, we are all compelled to manage our online image. By default, we

lose sales and opportunities to the competition when we do not participate on LinkedIn,

Facebook or Twitter. There are serious professionals filling those gaps daily while we

decide whetherSocial Media is for us.

There are extremely powerful forces at work in the Entrepreneur's favor if he can

visualize himself on at least the three Text Tagged Article', 'Click', 'social media']);"> social media giants, LinkedIn, Facebook and

Twitter. By focusing his/her attention on these three, a blog, and/or webpage, any

Entrepreneur, large or small can keep a handle on their time, resources, and revenue.

More importantly, by personally taking an active role in managing their own image,

the busy entrepreneur or business person individualizes the process, allowing the network

a glimpse into who they are. This is the crux of networking: To make real live human

connections, to make those connections real, does not necessarily mean en masse.

There is a symbiosis between the "Big 3". Every entrepeneur, small business person,

Internet marketer and sales professional should be on LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook.

I have only highlighted 7 Important Reasons to be on the Big 3, send me a comment if

you can think of any other synergies that are important to the entrepreneur.

1.First and foremost, the Entrepreneur should have a marketing plan which encompasses

all three framework and understand that they all have unique characteristics, a unique

bond with their endusers, and must be approached differently, yet not haphazardly.

2.Twitter as Efficiency Tool is the biggest Win - Win created for the Entrepreneur

in Twenty years, and is the least utilized of the symbiotic gains. When you "Tweet" this

can update both Facebook and LinkedIn, saving you time, steps, effort and money. LinkedIn

and FB only offered SMS (text) updates after Twitter became popular; and is still

the preferred way by millions around the world to update all their social sites.

3.Twitter is by far more efficient than the either Facebook or LinkedIn as

Search Engine tailored to the busy Entrepeneur
. Twitter can categorize

your niche' news, rumors, competition, regulations, all in real time, as you can mold

Twitter into search engine, unlike either Facebook or LinkedIn.

4.LinkedIn is absolutely essential to the Entrepreneur. It is the largest Professional

Networking site in the world, and we lose sales and reputation by default when we do not

manage our online presence effectively. Credibility and a "history" are gained on LinkedIn.

In particular, use of the "summary"; joining groups which immediately identify you with

thousands of potential connections; and participation by comment are effective tools.

5.Facebook, the largest Social site with 400 million users, has been primarily a friends

and family arena, but brands are entering in a big way. LinkedIn has installed recently

a "like" button emulating FB. When you Tweet, you can set your FB page to be updated.

When the Entrepreneur uses the FB logo in his marketing, he is co-branding himself to

the larger identifier. The enduser feels good about FB, they feel good about the

Entrepreneur. Unique Landing Pages for each Social site are the latest trend.

6.All three networks, LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook have the ability to have RSS

feeds announcing blog feeds, especially from Mashable, Foursquare, Digg which

are updated when you post a new blog entry, this saves time, creates content.

7.Each time you Tweet it is posted on the Internet. So if you type something in

Linked in for instance, a quote, that is fed into your Twitter account, and stored on

the Internet forever.

Practicing using all of the Big Three, Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter, and

developing a sense for each Social site's strengths and abilities will greatly enhance

your ability to develop a marketing plan for Social Media.

Using the Big 3 yourself first, and developing a Marketing Plan, you can determine the

effort and time involved in social media. Any time and effort are generally offset

by: profit, efficiency, step reduction, and a larger overall Internet imprint.

Once you have at least used Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, developed a bit of

your own online image, AND created a Marketing Plan, you should be in excellent

position to determine which services or companies to use in fulfilling your Social

Media Strategy.

In another article here on Even Carmicheal, I discuss the Marketing Plan for

Entrepreneurs and its importance in implementing Social Media strategy, a must read

for anyone struggling with Social Media, or have not even begun.

I look forward to comments especially about other synergies and symbiosis between

Linkedin, Facebook and Twitter.

Re: Facebook or Twitter? Re: Facebook or Twitter? - Thanks for the feedback guys! I personally started with Twitter and am now moving over to Facebook. I polled people on both my accounts and (not surprisingly) the Twitter people said Twitter and the Facebook people said Facebook! The actual order of my social media presence looks like this: 1) LinkedIn (with little success) 2) Twitter 3) YouTube 4) Facebook
Re: Twitter vs Facebook Re: Twitter vs Facebook - I use Facebook pages for Business and rarely ever use Twitter. I hace lost count of the no. of Hotels that I have visited, regarding their marketing campaigns, that may have 5k Facebook Fans and only 100 followers on Twitter. It is a lot more difficult to engage with people on Twitter and thus harder to gain traction. If you are a business like Nike, then Twitter is great, but if you are an SME, then focus on Facebook or LinkedIn (if you are providing a professional service.) You can always have your Facebook feed directly in to Twitter, so you can have a presence on both, but do the work on one. Also check out ping.fm for managing campaigns - it is a free tool, and a great time saver.
